Pastor Armando has been married to his wife Juanita for 23 years and they have 2 children. He has been in the ministry for 21 years and a pastor at the church in Guatil for 11 years. He is Nicaraguan, but has lived in Costa Rica since 1991. His mother died when he was only 11 and his dad left him and his brother. Without parents to provide for them, they slept on the streets. At one point in his youth, he fell from a tree and suffered a terrible injury that left him in a wheelchair. During this time, he was told that he wouldn’t walk again. A friend shared the Gospel with him and he immediately felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit and asked God to save his soul and heal his body, and he dedicated his life to Jesus. At the age of 16 he started taking his first steps - a miracle! At the age of 19 he began leading a small Bible study and his friends encouraged him to think about becoming a pastor. After praying over it, he felt the Lord calling him to ministry, so he moved to Costa Rica to study and lead a small church. He says that “Wherever I have gone, God has blessed me."
