The team has arrived safe and sound. They had a great flight and many said they got some great sleep on the flight after their early morning flight. They walked out with huge smiles as they were greeted by the Praying Pelican Staff that will be with them for the week.
After gathering the entire team we quickly grabbed a team photo and then began loading the luggage truck with the many suitcases that are full of ministry items for the week.
The team was hungry as they arrived and we had nice warm Jamican Patties and Coco Bread along with ice cold water ready for the team. They were all excited as we passed out heavens special food from Jamaica. :) Patties are definetely a favorite food for our teams.
We boarded the bus and then headed for the Nutshell which is our lodging facility for the week. The team all worked together to unload and began settling in for the week.
We are now relaxing and waiting to eat our first delicious Jamaican dinner.
Everyone is super excited and ready to begin our week. We are super excited to see where God is leading everyone this week.

WOW!!!!!!! That is the word that was heard over and over again when our church service at William Knibb was over. Pastor Nugent commanded our attention as he preached the word! His message captivated everyone as he challenged us to be Watchman over our relationship with Christ and sharing that faith with others. It was truly an amazing service and we all walked away having felt God's presence here in Jamaica at William Knibb Baptist.

Drew and this sweet gentleman that he met at St. James Infirmary had an instant connection with each other.
As they chatted and horsed around with each other it was evident that a bond was formed during the short time they had together.
God's love brought together two wonderful men yesterday. God's love has no boundaries even between total strangers.

Will and Andy our bus driver challenged each other to some friendly arm wrestling. It was hysterical as we watched the children chanting extremely loud who they wanted to win.

There were smiles everywhere when the team pulled out a huge parachute today.

It's not everyday that you get to hold VBS for children while enjoying God's beautiful creation under coconut trees.

Team 5 worked their tails off passing what felt like 100 buckets of stone and sand to prepare a floor for concrete to be poured tomorrow. We are working on an addition at a Conference Center that is used to hold Camp for Jamaican children, conferences as well as housing Mission teams like ours.
Asbury has done great work over the year's to help make this bunk house an awesome place for teams to stay.

Sometimes all that is needed to get the job done is to patiently sit with your students as you teach.

I’ve been on the mountain top and I’ve seen the promised land, it sure looks good from up here.

2 new homes are being built this week by part of the crew. Many are learning how to mix mortar and lay block. Debbie was a perfectionist as she laid blocks! The walls are straight that is for sure!

We decided the team might like a surprise treat yesterday. They didn't care much for the coconut water but they loved the coconut meat with sugar on it. :))
