1st Presbyterian Church

After getting to know our home church, we got to experience worship together. Praising the Lord regardless of language or nation, a wonderful time in the presence of God.

It was a blessing to see the children singing praises to Jesus and allowing us to be part of their church family.

A few of the members from the team were able to share their testimonies!  They shared moments from when they met God, knew He loved them, and then decided to follow Him! We even heard Matthew preach in spanish about Noah's obedience and faithfulness!

Pastor Drew had the opportunity to share his testimony today. He shared about the moment he understood the truth of God's love and the moment he decided he would follow Christ's example!

We were able to spend time with the locals and go to their houses to have lunch.  It was a wonderful time, learning the Costarican culture better and seeing how God is present in this country and the people's lives.   We have many things in common!

We took some time to hear our host Pastor, this man has a powerful testimony. The Lord called him to be light in this community.   We  were able to pray for him, and also prayed that we can be a big blessing and help to him and his ministry this week.

The people from church came to the soccer field to spend some time with us. We played volleyball and had a great afternoon together as family in Christ. There are many good volleyball players here in Costa Rica!

We are hiking to San Miguel, it is challenging us both mentally and physically. Pastor Florencio is our guide, and is leading us to the small village where only 30 people live.  We are expecting our hearts and minds to be forever changed.  We are trusting God, and praying for salvations!

We made it to the church in the mountain after a 4 hour hike!  It's so nice to have VBS with the children from the community.  We learned about the love of God that cleanses all of our sins, and we played games and made crafts.

We had a powerful service last night!  Some of the guys preached about walking in faith to serve the Lord and Pastor Florentino asked our team to pray and minister to the people from the church.  It was wonderful to see the growth of our group this week. 

Today was a day of prayer, full of the presence of God.  We walked all over the village to deliver 12 bags of food to the families, they asked us to release blessings over their families, and we also prayed for the sick and spent time with them.

We made a new friend, his name is Roberto. He was so thankful that we thought about his family.  After we prayed for his wife and grandchildren, this man opened the doors of his house and his heart to us.

After a lot of mud and rain we got back to Pastor Orman's church.   Today we started the construction, digging dirt with shovels to level the ground.  It might look impossible for one person to do, but teamwork always wins!

We were mixing concrete and sifting sand,  preparing to lay the blocks, the new classroom will look great!  We learned how to do construction like the ticos (costaricans)!

We had more than 20 children for Bible School.  It was awesome to minister to this community once again, the kids made bracelets and had lots of fun with us. 

These ladies are wonderful! They hiked the mountain to serve us and make sure we were fed.  We felt God's love through the delicious food they made. We got to give then massages and paint their finger nails.

Today we went to the beach in Puerto Viejo, Limón.  It is a beautiful place with blue water, a perfect ending for a successful week of ministry. We love that God speaks to us through His creation too!

We had a wonderful service tonight, the local church thanked us for all the work, so many tears and happiness at the same time, we have been changed forever, our prayer is to see our friends  again and worship the same God once again.
