When disasters strike, the Church is on the front lines of response and relief efforts, working with local authorities and organizing grassroots efforts to meet the pressing needs of their communities.
Follow along with teams as they serve in disaster areas around the world, and also read about the experiences of past teams who have served in those areas through Praying Pelican Missions. Our disaster trip journals are a great way to stay connected with those support teams as they work locally and internationally to offer encouragement and assist the local Church in what might be their greatest time of need!
We have all arrived safely in Belize! We are currently at the children's home in Belize City ministering to an playing with the children there before heading north to our home for the week. Thank you all for your prayers.
Today was an activity filled day!
This morning we broke out into groups to visit homes throughout the community. We were able to meet some new people and pray with a few different families.
After lunch, we started mixing and pouring cement like CRAZY! We wanted to get the foundation done on the church before the end of the day so that we could start laying bricks on Monday.
This evening we drove the bus over to the park for some sports ministry. We really have enjoyed our Saturday!
We took part in a mind-blowing church service yesterday. There were so many different parts and pieces all rolled into one service. There were messages given, testimonies shared, music and praises sung, and there were prayers offered. Additionally, there were babies dedicated, new members accepted, six weddings officiated, and a plethora of oceanside baptisms. What an amazing day that we could experience so many unique events in just a few short hours.
This morning we are at the Cerros Mayan site getting a tour, and climbing some hills. When we return to the village this afternoon, we will get to work on building the walls at the church site. We will also host a sports ministry out at the field again followed by a Youth & Children's night.
We have been hard at work the last few days with ministry. We've been traveling up and down the streets of Libertad visiting people's homes, praying with families, inviting children and youth to sports ministry, and inviting families to the church. Our group has had so many wonderful interactions with so many wonderful people. It's sometimes hard to process it all.
Today is our last day of ministry -please continue to pray for us. We will have a closing service tonight where we will say "until next time" to our new Belizean family.
