After arriving safely yesterday, we had worship this morning at Monument of Love Baptist Church. Great worship. Great message. Great people. We're excited to begin our time here in Memphis!

This afternoon we had church in a park right off of Beale Street. We got to sit with some new people and sing and listen to a few speakers. Following the service, lunches were passed out and clothes made available for those who needed them. We got to do a little witnessing while meeting some new people.

We started serving today at St. Vincent DePaul Food Mission. We made sandwiches and packaged food while also preparing and serving 132 meals. Most importantly we had opportunities to share the gospel with some of those coming to eat the meal. We are looking forward to being back at St. Vincent on Wednesday!

This afternoon we walked in the neighborhood surrounding Monument of Love and prayed for people as well as shared the message of the gospel and Jesus with them. Pray that we will be the planters and waterers this week.

Today, Pastor James from Hope Fellowship Baptist Church shared his ministry with us. He told us all about how the church is trying to reach out to the apartment community through many ministries such as tutoring and offering basic needs. We also got a chance to evangelize to people in the apartments.

The other half of the day we spent at Rainbow Nursing Home. We did some singing and a few of us shared our testimonies. We were also able to go room to room to pray for a few people. Overall we had a great time getting to visit with those living in that home.

We took a quick break between ministries to cool off with some Jerry's sno cones!

We were back at St. Vincent this morning. We got to see some familiar faces from Monday and package up sack lunches for the people coming today. Hopefully we fed their spirits as well as their stomachs this morning.

Before heading to do some evangelism on Beale Street, we had dinner at the Blues City Cafe. We stuffed ourselves with ribs, catfish, and shrimp. So delicious!

Beale Street is one of the most famous streets in Memphis. Mass amounts of people walk this street everyday: a perfect place to spread the gospel and pray for people. We had some good conversations.

Before going to the Mission tonight, we spent the first part of our day touring a couple big places in Memphis. First we went to Bellevue Baptist Church. It is a large megachurch in East Memphis. Their building is beautiful and the amount of people that hear the word of God each week is amazing.

Next we got a tour of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The hospital take about $2 million a day to run, and there is no cost for the families and children coming to be treated. The love that radiates from that place is contagious. Everyday they are fighting to find a bigger and better way. Amazing place.

Being in Memphis this week has made for a good mission trip. The last serving we did was at Calvary Rescue Mission. At this homeless mission for men, we served close to 40 men several chili dogs. After dinner, we had a chapel time with these men. We got to sing together and hear some powerful testimonies. Overall, we had a really good night.
