We have touched down

by Tati | July 17, 2010 2:39 PM

Everyone has arrived safe and sound! As we arrived we all we waiting for other teams to get in so we would be able to head off on the 3-4 hour trip to Corozal (near Mexico). It was great getting to meat te other teams and being able to finally be here in Belize, after preparing for so long. We starting our journey, taking in the culture around us and made a little stop in a town called Orange Walk, to have supper. We soon reached the city and had our team meeting, and found out where we were going to be sleeping, After situation our belongings, it was so great to be able to look out the window and see the ocean just right there. And it is crazy to think that Mexico is just right over the border...just minutes away. And even though we are so close, it is SO DIFFERENT! This morning we woke up...you think we would be tired and want to sleep in, but a good number of us started our day pretty early and was able to have our devotions over by the water. We worshiped a little as the rain started to come down. We ran for shelter and did our introductions to meet everyone. We hopped on our bus and made a couple pit stops to get some large items for construction...and off to San Narciso we went. We divided, so of us went walk around and witness, others started plastering, working on a roof, painting ad a couple different places....it was crazy but we accomplished so much! We then started getting ready for VBS and trying to arrange everything we brought. Some of us went out to tell the kids about VBS, and others were playing with the children that were coming. God is doing some amazing things so far and more excited to see what else God has in store for the week!

God's Blessings

by Tati | July 19, 2010 3:48 PM

God fills our days with so many blessings Today was filled with MANY church services. There were some of us that did not just lead 1…2….but 3 church services!!!! We started out this morning by some of us going to Buena Vista, which is a small church that we are also painting at. But the church was filled!!!! Literally we could not even sit down, it was so packed! We were able to translator this morning to translate for us and while this was all happening, there were also some of us in Corozal bringing the word, worshiping and acting out incredible dramas. In the afternoon we did a little switching it up and some of us went to San Narciso to lead a second church service, and we also had an opportunity to out and pray for a Pastor that is in the community that has cancer. It was such a blessing to be a part of that experience. And we also had those in Corozal putting on their second day of VBS. And like…. we had some kids the first day, but they like tripled today!!!! Yes, the day was filled with Bible stories, snacks, games, music, and craft. And we even had some young women in the community come and ask to help! Right now we are all at church…well just about to start church. Please continue to be praying for us and that we can continue to experience more and more of what God has for us here! The Lord is for sure moving and working in our hearts, and we cant wait to continue experience more and more everyday!

Finishing Strong

by Leah | July 21, 2010 3:50 PM

What an awesome last day we got to experience here in Corozal. We woke up, jumped on the buses and headed to San Narciso for one last day of construction. Half of the group headed over to Buena Vista where they finished painting and pouring cement and the other group stayed behind at San Narciso to finish plastering, painting and working on the sign. After lunch the groups got ready for VBS and what a fantastic day it was. The kids smiling faces appeared at the doorways long before the scheduled time for VBS to start. To end the day we invited people from all the churches where we had been working to a closing service filled with heartfelt worship, thanks to the area pastors and others as well as just a time to reflect on all that had been accomplished during the past week. When the service ended we headed back and got ready for our trip to Caye Caulker the next day.

Well Deserved Rest

by Leah | July 21, 2010 4:12 PM

What an early morning we had today. We woke up at 4:00 to get an early start to our day. Loaded up the buses and started our journey to Belize City. We arrived in record time to the Global Village Hotel where we dropped off our luggage and then headed into the city to catch our water taxi out to Caye Caulker. When we arrived at the Caye we grabbed snorkel gear and headed out to the reef where we had an awesome time at Shark and Ray Alley. When our snorkeling was over we headed back to our hotel to relax in the sand and explore the island. Tonight we will have our closing meeting where we will be singing praises, sharing highlights, and thanking God for all the amazing things that he has done through us this week for the people in Corozal and San Narciso. What an Amazing God we serve!!!
