The group arrived on Saturday night and spent some time settling in, meeting the Praying Pelican staff, and doing an orientation meeting! They are excited for the week to come.

This morning we went to Prospect Park in Providence. It is one of the most beautiful parks and it has an awesome view of the city. We did devotionals and then heard from Praying Pelican Staff member Rachel Carew as she shared a little bit about Providence and the culture here.

This morning we are at the very first Baptist Church in the USA for our devotionals! It is a cool way to explore our history and spend some time with God before our first day of service projects!

This morning we started working on some service projects around our partner church! We painted the children's room, deep cleaned several areas of the church, and did some landscaping as well before breaking for lunch!

This morning we woke up, ate breakfast and did devotions before getting back to work! We spent a good portion of the day laying flooring in the newly painted children's room, cleaning, and preparing to paint another part of the church. Also, some of us went on a prayer walk through the surrounding neighborhoods! We were able to pray with several people from the community. After that we went to Kennedy Plaza and handed out some water bottles to people, and we were able to evangelize! We had some very meaningful conversations.

This evening after eating dinner at the church we were able to do an impromptu ministry night at a park! We played soccer and kickball with some neighborhood kids and had an awesome time.

Yesterday morning we had the opportunity to work on two different projects. Our first group of people worked at the church to finish painting a hallway and decorating the children's room! Our second group went back to the park that we had been to the night before. We played with the kids and loved on them. It was a lot of fun!

Is Rhode Island truly ready for this group of teens? Not sure if I should pray more for the group or the city ;) Guess I will continue to take the "safe route" and continue to pray for both. Thanks for the update!
