Church of Christ at White Station

The team has arrived and we are having a great time playing a game and bonding tonight after having our orientation meeting. Tomorrow we will be attending a church called The Feast and we are very excited! 

We attended The Feast Church this morning and heard an awesome message from Pastor Caleb! Now we are enjoying the fellowship of the church while we sing, hang out and enjoy a lunch provided for us by the church. 

We are back at our host church and we are discussing the upcoming VBS that we are leading. We will be leading a VBS here at Providence Church of Christ from Monday-Thursday. We have chosen a theme, and we chose which stations we want to help with. We are very excited to meet the kids for our first day of VBS tomorrow! 

We are at Prospect Park which is a beautiful park in Providence that gives us an amazing view of the city. We enjoyed some pizza for dinner, and are now listening to Rachel as she shares her experience working and living in Providence, and tips on how to serve here to the best of our abilities.

Tonight is our first night running VBS for Providence Church of Christ here in Rhode Island! We are so excited to be here telling Bible stories, playing games, and doing crafts with the kids. We also enjoyed some delicious Liberian food and can't wait to see what the rest of the week will bring! 

This morning we are at Dexter Park helping out! We have put mulch around some trees, and now we are sanding and painting benches to make the park more beautiful. This park has a history of being trashed and forgotten, but there has been an incredible improvement in the last few years and the park is now being loved and cared for. We are blessed to have the opportunity to partner with the West Broadway Neighborhood Association and do what we can to better the park.

Our church partner The Feast in Providence hooked us up with some awesome T-shirts for the service we will be doing with them this week! We took an opportunity to take a fun picture during our travels today. 

Tonight we are hosting a second day of Vacation Bible School for the kids of Providence Church of Christ! The kids are loving the songs, games, and crafts. We are teaching them about the underdogs of the Bible and tonight our story is about Esther! 

Happy birthday to one of our team members, Michael! He has been a huge blessing to us so far this week! 

This morning we went to the Woonasquatucket River Greenway and helped to clean up and lay mulch alongside the beautiful bike path. There was a lot of energy among our group, and everyone had a great time doing landscaping! We really enjoyed working with the river rangers today!

We had another amazing night with our friends here at Providence Church of Christ! Our Bible story tonight was David and Goliath, and even the adults loved our skit rendition of it.  We even got to spend some time worshipping with the parents while their kids were having fun. We are so blessed to be here!
