Hello Bahamas!

by Jenna Singletary | June 3, 2017 3:25 PM

We made it safely!

We were able to see the beautiful waters and all of Nassau as we landed. The weather is nice, overcast, and perfect for a full week of roofing and children's ministry!

Join us in praying for the people of the Bahamas, the kiddos we get to work with, and the people we get to love on.

Let the adventure begin!

Dinner!

by Jenna Singletary | June 3, 2017 6:36 PM

When we say this is some of the best food we have ever eaten, we mean it! We started our week with curry chicken, rice, and cole slaw.

This week has started off strong. We are settled into our lodging, met our Pastor for the week and the team we are working with, and have had orientation.

Tomorrow we will meet the church we are partnering with!

Church!

Fun, interesting, and challenging.

These are just a few of the words describing our time at church this morning. It was a beautiful service, filled with fellowship and the Word.

We are so honored to be serving with Chapel on the Hill this week!

Island Tour

by Jenna Singletary | June 4, 2017 5:57 PM

We went on a tour of the island today with some of our church friends!

We were able to see several government houses, hospitals, the fishing docks, and go into a local grocery store. The prices were crazy!

we also were able to stop and see the Queens Staircase! This was a secret getaway dug by slaves to help the queen escape in a bind.

It was beautiful!

Focused Prayer

by Jenna Singletary | June 4, 2017 6:03 PM

On our island tour we stopped at South Beach. This is where many Haitians enter the country looking for freedom and a better life.

We took time here to focus on praying for the Haitians coming into the Bahamas. We prayed for the Bahamians that welcome them. We prayed for the local church that takes them in.

Now we are getting our VBS material ready for the week before we crash for the evening.

Join us in praying for the community we are serving in this week as we play and teach kiddos and work on building a roof for the school.

Working ALL day long!

by Jenna Singletary | June 5, 2017 11:18 AM

Wow! What a day and it is only 12:15!

We had an early start this morning at 6:30 am! We ate breakfast and then headed to the school to begin our roofing.

Some of our team helped on the roof, while other cleaned the classrooms and picked up trash. It was an awesome morning hanging out with some of the men in the community and getting work done.

We just finished our lunch of delicious beef patties and are about to head to the park for a 1 afternoon VBS Extravaganza!

Pray for our health as we spend most our days in the sun!

Jesus in the Park!

by Jenna Singletary | June 5, 2017 9:05 PM

Friends, when we say God is moving this week, we mean it!

This afternoon proved His faithfulness in directing our steps. We arrived to the basketball park where we were going to do our VBS and there were no little kids! We unloaded the bus and headed around the neighborhood inviting anyone we saw.

Before we knew it we had a court full! We played games, did crafts, and most importantly shared stories about Jesus. Many came to faith, including one father and daughter.

The day was amazing! We ended it by filling our bellies with baked chicken and mashed potatoes while we talked about our favorite part of the day.

Pray for rest and renewal as we head into the busiest day of ministry!

14 Hours.....

by Jenna Singletary | June 6, 2017 9:00 PM

Today was a day. We accomplished 14 hours of ministry. We saw God work. We felt God stretch us.

It was amazing!!!

Today we continued working on the roof and then we tackled the Preschool classrooms! Now that was an adventure. We helped them with snacks and recess, before we shared some stories and played games! It was a great opportunity for the teachers to take a break and rest.

After lunch we worked on the roof a little more while some people continued playing with the kiddos.

Then we headed back to our favorite park. The Lord allowed us to connect with so many cool people and even the high school boys got into the games! We can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Beach Outreach

by Jenna Singletary | June 6, 2017 9:19 PM

To end our night we went from the park to the beach. We joined a local pastor for his Tuesday Night Evangelism.

It was an incredible experience. We sang worship songs, shared testimonies, and told the story of Jesus. We met one friend who is struggling, but we have faith that God placed him in our path for a reason, and that reason is to pray.

We ended our time by trying some fresh coconuts before heading back to a delicious dinner of steamed conch, rice, pork chops, and mashed potatoes.

Join us in praying for the friend we met, for our safety tomorrow, and for our bodies to find the strength they need to get through another day.

Food for the Masses!

by Jenna Singletary | June 7, 2017 10:05 AM

This morning we continued our habit of waking up early to roof and clean! It was, however, a little different because we also got to prepare for our afternoon of food distribution.

This afternoon we will head back to our park with food for 24 families. Our goal is to have the kids we have connected with take us to their home, we will get to meet their families, share Jesus, and encourage those in the community.

Pray that we would speak boldly, that the food would be multiplied until all needs are met, and that we would be a loving light to the community.

Food for the Masses!

Wild!

by Jenna Singletary | June 7, 2017 10:03 PM

Today has been nothing short of an adventure!

We finished our roofing for the morning and headed on to work in the classrooms with the kiddos. We were able to provide lunch for the teachers and watch their classes so they could rest and enjoy their meal at a leisurely pace.

After a delicious lunch we worked on the roof a little more and had some time with the older kids of the school! We headed back to our park around 4 where we dove head first into food distribution.

We had bags flying left and right! We were able to meet so many families, hear their stories, and most importantly pray with them. We passed out all 24 bags just in time for the bus to pick us up.

We settled down to some delectable BBQ ribs and corn on the cob while we swapped stories from the day.

We are exhausted. Pray for us as we push through one more day of hard work. We are excited about all that God is doing and can't wait to share it with you!

Rec Day turned Work Day!

by Jenna Singletary | June 9, 2017 1:01 AM

This morning we continued our work on the roof, as well as did some painting at the church! It was a busy morning!

We were able to buy a few souvenirs before heading to the Prayer Grotto to end our time of ministry in prayer for the community.

After making a pitstop to visit a Pastors church and pray over his community we were finally on our way to the beach! This time we actually got to swim!

It was a great afternoon of rest and relaxing by the beautiful waters before ending our day with fried conch fritters and special sauce.

We are sad to be leaving, but so excited to share what all the Lord has done this week.

See you soon!

When I look at your pictures, I don't see faces. I see the hands and feet of Jesus! There is no better way to show His love for us, than by serving others. You guys are exactly what Christ has called us to do and be. We serve an awesome God! Those you reach are seeing just how compassionate and loving He is. Thank you for your hard work and for answering the call. In His love, Tracy
