Abiding Presence Lutheran Church

Today we welcome the team from the Abiding Presence Lutheran Church. After an hour and fifteen minutes drive to La Romana where we will be working all week, the team settled down and after dinner we had our first devotional. We are all eager for the day of tomorrow to come,for us to start working for Luz Divina Church.

Getting ready the songs for the week. For each service and devotionals. David is in charge but everyone is helping with the songs and the music. 

How wonderful it is to see a group of people exited and ready to work. Today we are setting up everything to start working tomorrow at the bateys. We prepared and divided the groups for the VBS, the puppets skit and practiced the songs for tonight's service at Pastor Mede's Church, Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina. 

Tonight's service at Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina we had an amazing worship time. Starting with to young boys playing the instruments with smiles on their faces followed with more songs and prayers. After the service Pastor Mede,all the kids and adults hugged and thank each and everyone of us for being there but we are the ones Blessed to be in such and amazing place.

Today the team was at Batey Bermejo. Another extension of the Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina lead by Pastor Mede. The VBS started with songs in Creole then Spanish and English. Followed by a Puppet show and the story about The Lost Sheep. A lot of kids danced and played with the group members and at the end we did a craft of the cross for them to hang it in their homes.

Tonight after dinner the team shared their experience today and how the saw God everywhere, the laughs of children, hand shake or a hug. Today was a good day!

Pastor Mede has dreamed for many years about his congregation having a church of their own. Today after 38 years in the Dominican Republic a church they can call their own began. Our team from Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Virginia has begun the foundation for a new church building in Villa San Carlos, La Romana. 

Today the team gave VBS at Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina in La Romana. They sang songs, taught a Bible lesson, did crafts and had a puppet show.

The team continued hard at it today and has made lots of progress on preparing for the foundation of the new church to be poured. Today a few people even volunteered to work through break time to continue making progress. 

The team battled another day in the sun to continue the progress on the new church building for Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina.

We closed out our week of ministry with Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina with an amazing service last night. The Holy Spirit's presence was evident and we worshiped with our brothers and sisters.
