American Nicaragua Foundationby Joshua Edmonds | March 1, 2016 9:24 PM
Today we had the amazing opportunity to visit with American Nicaragua foundation. They are a group with a kingdom heart. One of their primary roles in Nicaragua is to help clear the containers of Feed My Starving Children's (FMSC) Manna Packs, warehouse and distribute. Their organization has a true heart. One heart serving our one God.
Special Danceby Joshua Edmonds | March 1, 2016 9:26 PM
ANF organized some time for us at a couple of different schools that benefit from the Manna packs provided by FMSC. At the primary school in the morning, the children performed some cultural dances for us.
5 million mealsby Joshua Edmonds | March 1, 2016 9:32 PM
Some of our participants are gearing up their community to pack 5 million meals for FMSC this year in ONE EVENT! It was awesome for our group to stand in the warehouse of ANF to see what 5 million meals looks like.

The Manna Pack from FMSC not only provides life and nutrition. It also provides employment for some of the community. This woman works with a partner school with Fabretto, our host ministry for the day. Every single school day she and her team cook for 350 kids.

At the school today, we had the opportunity to serve lunch with the Manna pack. Rusty pictured here was a pro at scoping rice!

Sometimes the recipients of the Manna Packs get creative and separate the ingredients. Today the cocinera (cook) made soy patties with rice and served with a side of beans and plantain. After we served all the kids their lunch, we actually got to eat the food. it was so awesome eating the same Manna Pack that we have helped package up in the States!?
NicaHopeby Joshua Edmonds | March 1, 2016 9:50 PM
Our last stop of the day was a before / afterschool center for kids living near the largest dump community in Central America. Fabretto started this center to provide outlets and resources for kids who otherwise would have to be sorting through garbage at the dump with their partners to survive. At the center they also offer vocational training classes. One such class is jewelry making.
Meet Ms C. She started coming to the center and learned to make jewelry. She then started to be part of the co-op, where he jewelry is sold. Now she has a 6mo old and says Fabretto, FMSC and now NicaHope have given her a new life. Now her 6mo old will never have to know what it is like to work in the dump foraging for food scraps to survive.
God wastes nothing.by Joshua Edmonds | March 3, 2016 8:10 AM
We had the opportunity to travel north to Leon yesterday with our partner, Orphan Network. We saw two schools and fed kids who literally only ate what was provided in the Manna pack. As we were serving, we left the chicken bones aside. Kids came back up, asked for the bones and chewed on them to get the marrow out. At that moment, God reminded us that there is no junk in His World. Everything is precious, even what we think is waste.

And so it ends...this timeby Joshua Edmonds | March 9, 2016 10:48 AM
Our trip is over. We spent the last day with our friends at Save a Generation in Managua and then headed down to Granada for shopping, relaxing and eating. It was a great trip full of powerful moments, inspiring moments, and truly remarkable ones. It's the end now for this trip, but it's also just the beginning for our trip next year! Nicaragua you have our hearts!
