Our surgical team has arrived in beautiful, sunny, Dominican Republic. After a brief tour of the Good Samaritan Hospital, we are now settled into our hotel in La Romana. Buenas noches :)
Screening for Surgery

This morning many patients were assessed and scheduled for surgery. The majority of the patients have very limited access to healthcare, and are grateful for mission teams to provide their specialty service :)
Surgery Day Monday

Today we did 11 surgeries for patients that have been praying and waiting for a surgical team to come to serve in this area of the Dominican Republic.
Good Samaritan Hospital

Our surgical team is utilizing the very accommodating setting of the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana for our medical ministry this week.
Surgery Day Tuesday

Today our surgical team completed about 15 surgeries - - - mostly for gall stones and hernia repair. Many of these patients have been suffering with these conditions for a long time - - - now happy knowing there are better days ahead :)

Each patient received a pre-op interview prior to surgery - - - - some in Spanish and some in Haitian creole :)

Our nurses gave great, loving care to our pre-operative patients - - - language barriers do not hinder a caring hand :)

Maybe someday I could join a medical missions group and bring some PT to the post surgery or injury. Love you guys.
