We've Arrived!

by Amy Meints | July 4, 2015 11:07 PM

We've arrived in Belize and made it safe and sound to our lodging and host church in Pomona. We were met by our lovely cooks who had prepared a tasty meal for us. They even made cupcakes and hung signs saying Happy Independence Day!! How fun! We had a youth service tonight where we had a chance to sing and play games with the local youth as well as hear a message from a pastor about relationships. We can tell this is going to be an awesome week!

Sunday school.

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 5, 2015 10:49 PM

This morning we got to help take charge of the Sunday school classes. We all sang songs together then split into 3 classes Here in this class we played some games then learned a bible story. We also got to teach the kids 1 Timothy 4:12. God can use young kids as long as they are willing.

Tonight we had a great service! We took part in traditional worship at church as well as led some worship. It was a packed church! The people of Pomona are so welcoming and we are so blessed by them and can't wait to see what God has planned for the rest of the week!

First day of VBS

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 6, 2015 9:43 PM

Today we had our first day of VBS. In bible story time the kids learned about the days of creation. They were super excited to be involved in that time. They also got to make crafts that went along with the bible story & were able to have lots of fun running around and playing games outside! We can't wait to see how many more kids God brings to share His word with.

Dividing up the food..

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 6, 2015 9:58 PM

Today we went to the grocery store and got food in bulk to distribute to families in need here in Pomona. We spent this evening dividing and packing it all up to prepare to deliver later this week. It is amazing to see God bring all these teams to work together to further His kingdom.

Feet washing

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 6, 2015 10:06 PM

Tonight after dinner some of our ladies wanted to thank our cooks for the blessing they are to us. They served them by rubbing their shoulders, washing their feet and painting their nails. Our cooks here in Pomona are fantastic and we wouldn't have the strength to get through each day without the food they prepare for us. We are so thankful for them!

VBS & Beach Time

by Amy Meints | July 7, 2015 5:46 PM

This morning we had another great day of VBS. It's so cool to build the relationships and to love on the kids. But in all honesty it feels like they're loving on us more than we are on them. Their openness and trust is amazing. Currently we are hanging out at Placencia beach soaking up the sun and waves (and gelato!!!). So fun!!

3rd day of VBS

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 8, 2015 10:37 PM

Our 3rd day of VBS was incredible. We had around 200 kids. It has been amazing to see the relationships that have been formed on this trip. This week these teams and the people of Pomona became one and all the glory goes to God. He showed up here this week.

Food distribution

by Michelle Cocchimiglio | July 8, 2015 10:44 PM

This afternoon it rained hard as we were getting ready to go out to deliver food. So we took a pause in our schedule and did some amazing worship. As we were worshipping the rain calmed and eventually stopped and we were able to go out and deliver food. It was an incredible time of hearing peoples stories and meeting a physical need here in Pomona.

I love seeing how this team is being the hands and feet of Jesus in so many ways. So awesome to see them loving on the cooks as well! Praying for all of you leaders that you would be led by the Holy Spirit this week and that you would have plenty of energy and strength to get through the week.
