We arrived at the San Juan airport at 10 pm tonight where we were greeted by our Praying Pelican staff! We then loaded the bus and drove to the south side of the island to the city of Ponce where we will be serving! Its late and we're not anticipating a lot of sleep tonight, but spirits are high and we are ready to get going tomorrow!

This morning after our church service we took some time to scout out our location for VBS. We have 27 kids signed up and we are excited to meet them all tomorrow!

Today was our first day of VBS! It was so great to meet the kids and have fun together. We are excited to continue building our relationships throughout the week!

Today after VBS we got to take in a little bit of Ponce's culture by visiting Ponce Square. We toured the firefighter museum, stopped for ice cream, and did our souvenir shopping. It was fun to get this experience early on in the week!

This afternoon we went to the boardwalk called La Guancha to take in some views of the beach and mountains. We were greeted there by our mascot the pelican! Somehow we managed to get this picture without it flying away! We wrapped up the night with another incredible meal, and a time of reflection and worship. We will be back at VBS bright and early tomorrow!

Today we started our second full day of VBS! It was awesome to see the kids again and continue building those relationships. Here is a picture of us leading worship and teaching songs!

After VBS we spent the afternoon painting at the church. We are painting the inside of the children's room and also doing some work on the fence! We made a lot of progress today and hope to finish tomorrow!

Tonight we got to take part in the church's prayer service! It was an awesome time of worship and prayer and we even got to share some testimonies of the week!

Wednesday we had the opportunity to bring all of the VBS kids to the local waterpark. It was awesome to see their energy and joy! What a fun day!

We covered a lot of service projects Wednesday afternoon! We had a group painiting inside, and also had a group painting the fence outside. A couple of us filled in gaps in the sidewalk with cement, and another crew helped a local family with cleaning their yard. We got a lot accomplished!

Thursday afternoon we got to go to one of the nicest Caribbean beaches around! It was a great way to relax after a busy week!

Last night we celebrated our week with the local church by having a farewell service. The kids from VBS came and got to perform a dance for us. It was a great time of fellowship to conclude an amazing week. Hard to leave, but we rest in knowing that the Lord will continue to bless the people and the community.
