Athletes for Christ

After a cancelled flight in Houston last night, the guys have final arrived. It has been a long 2 days of travel, but they are excited to have their feet on the ground in Costa Rica. It is going to be a great week of playing soccer and basketball with the locals! Our prayer is that Jesus would be the center of all that we do and that He would present us with opportunities to share the gospel!

We have had an awesome couple of days here in Costa Rica. Our team has had the opportunity to play soccer a couple of times with the locals and see much of Guanacaste. Last night as we were sitting in the park, the guys were doing some street evangelism and had an opportunity to talk with a young man named Julio. Julio shared his past and why he felt like if he died he would go to hell. After he shared, the guys were able to share testimonies of what God has done in their lives and Julio accepted Christ as Savior! It was an awesome experience for the guys and one that definitely makes the trip a huge success! Pray for Julio's faith and for a body of believers to come around him and encourage him in his walk with the Lord!

We took a little drive this morning to see a few cities and beaches around Liberia. It was a great time chatting at seeing some of the country. We ended the morning having a meeting with Pastor Adolfo. He shared his vision for an indoor soccer facility at their church and gave the young guys a few words of encouragement to continue being leaders on mission for spreading the Gospel!

We had a great time playing soccer with Ticos this week! The guys were able to give out 500 tracts and see God work in the lives of several Costa Ricans.

We had a great last day on the beach! It was fun playing some volleyball and swimming in the ocean. It has been a great week!
