Sunday Funday

by Mackenzie Van Remortel | July 5, 2015 10:24 PM

First full day of the trip! We started out at 9:30 with a bible study and then went into a worship service lasting until 1:00pm. Puerto Ricos church services are very vibrant and full of music. After prayer service we walked around the community and prayed for people, the streets and schools. Then we had a team meeting where we shared our testimonies. Great first day with an early start the morning with VBS and tiling!

First Full Day of Ministry

by Mackenzie Van Remortel | July 6, 2015 8:09 PM

Today was the first full day of ministry and we started it bright and early with VBS at 7:30am! Throughout the day we were tiling the church and visiting houses in the community doing such things as yard work or painting. Closed out the night celebrating Haley's birthday. Please pray for the city of Puerto Rico for rain and comfort for the people!

2nd Day of Ministry

by Mackenzie Van Remortel | July 7, 2015 6:27 PM

Another day of VBS and tiling! The room is looking so great and near finish. Tomorrow we will paint the walls and continue to clean the room so the church is ready to host when we leave. What a cool progression it as been!! In the afternoon we took some of the children to the nursing home where they were able to paint womens nails and sing songs!

Wednesday!

by Mackenzie Van Remortel | July 9, 2015 8:40 PM

On wed morning the group again switched between VBS and tiling. In the afternoon, we took the second group of kids to the nursing home and celebrated Haley's birthday with them. After that the group went bio-kayaking where the algae in the water lit up when the paddle touched it. Had a late night and woke up again early Thursday morning to finish the sanctuary in the tile!

Recreation Day

by Mackenzie Van Remortel | July 9, 2015 8:53 PM

Thursday morning we were able to finish the tile in just the right amount of time to be able to have a second half rec day! Today we went to El Yunque which is the rain forest in Puerto Rico. When we came back from the rainforest the church members were waiting for us there with hamburgers and hugs! (photo: El Yunque)

I am so proud of my amumc family and my immediate family! I think about you during each day. I love you guys. I'm praying for all your work spiritual and physical. PS. I will clean the house at least once before your return. Maisy said to tell you meow x4...she told me while I was typing! She either misses you terribly or wants double portions in her bowl.,Submit Comment
