We arrived on Saturday night after making our way from South Carolina. We are super excited to be partnering with Pastor Ariel and 3rd Day Church. Pastor Ariel is originally from the Dominican Republic. His church has about 10 different cultures including people from Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. We will be putting on a VBS, kids camp, and prayer walking around the neighboring community. Stayed tuned to see how God works this week in our lives!

Today we began the 1st week of VBS at 3rd Day Church ever in PPM history. It is Hispanic church with many different Central American cultures. The day was filled with music, crafts, bible story, and a mission story. After lunch we headed to a nearby park where we played ultimate frisbee, kickball, and three everything skit. Street VBS we headed out into the surrounding neighborhood to prayer walk. We were able to pay for over 10 to 15 puerile we meet along the way. We are looking forward to day 2 tomorrow.
Day 2by Derrick Still | July 31, 2014 6:39 AM
Today we returned to 3rd Day Church for our second day of VBS. The kids were over joyed to see us again and were eager to get started. We started by playing some VBS songs and dancing. After that we split into four groups craft, bible story, music, and snack/mission story. We had an excellent morning getting to know more about the kids and they started warming up to us. Before lunch Pastor Ariel and a couple more men from the church went around the neighborhood and found us some coconuts for the kids to try. After lunch we headed to the park to play ultimate Frisbee and do some more skits.
After the skits a few of us went prayer walking around teh neighborhood. While prayer walking we came across a guy who shared his testimony with us. He said that a couple years ago his brother was in a terrible motorcycle accident and only had a 10% chance of living. He said than he started to believe that day in God 110% and prayed continuously that God would save his brother. He said that the spirit came upon him and he went to sleep and he had a dream about an ant. He said that it represented God. He continued to pray for a couple of months for his brother to regain strength. He said when he went to touch his brother he saw Jesus touch him. Now is brother is okay and back driving again. We were able to pray with 8 people today for various needs.
For dinner we headed to Versailles in Little Havana which is the Spanish speaking part of Miami. We enjoyed some Cuban sandwiches and then headed to the bakery for some cafe con leche.
Day 3by Derrick Still | July 31, 2014 6:52 AM
Today we had a half day at the church where we did VBS with the kids once more. After VBS and lunch we headed to the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk for our recreation day. We enjoyed to beach and playing volleyball. After the beach we headed to the Taco Bar for dinner. There we had beef and chicken tacos and chips and salsa. After eating we were able to have a great time just dancing in the rain since the weather didn't cooperate. After that we returned to the hotel to wash up then to Sonic for some milk shakes.
When we returned to the hotel we had a meeting where we sung worship songs and had a devotion. We learned how to finish strong and keep our eyes on the Lord through whatever life throws our way. While we were having the meeting a young mother approached our group and asked us to pray for her family since she was going through some tough times. You can be a missionary anywhere you go! Stay tuned for our last day of ministry tomorrow.
