We're Here! - Benicia FBC Church in Jamaica - June 12, 2009

We are here. Prudy and Nicole arrived yesterday and met us at the airport. There was a bit of a delay in the airport getting through customs with all the dental supplies, but eventually we made it. We loaded up the van and went to our hotel for the week, The Big Apple. Once we got ourselves settled we headed out to a neighborhood called Canterbury. We were stunned at the houses and the small alleys we walked around in. Our goal was to set out inviting people to the dental clinic. However because of the rain it was difficult to find many people. Once we got the clinic started though, things picked up and we were off! We gave florid treatments to many kids. While those were being administered and the patients were receiving free toothbrushes and toothpaste, others of us played games with the kids who were around. Pastor Thomas, who we are partnering with this week, invited us to his home when we finished. We tried mango that he pulled from the tree in his back yard. Delicious! And took our group picture. We ended the day with a meal of spaghetti and meatballs. We are headed to bed to get a good night sleep.

My church just got back from Jamaica and God did a great work in not only my life but the also the lifes of the people in my group. I pray that yall will take every chance you get to spread the gospel and just let nothing hold you back from feeling the power of the Lord move through you. Just keep remembering that getting our of your comfort zone is the best thing you can do to let the Lord use you. Peace and Love from Westview Baptist Opp, AL....YEAH MON!!!

Our group just returned from Jamaica and saw a mighty work of God in the lives of those with which we worked and especially in our lives. I challenge you to allow the Lord to use you in whatever way he sees fit. If you do, you will have an awesome trip!

Just wanted to let you guys know that the group that just left Jamaica will be praying for you. We hope your lives will be touch and changed just as much as ours. Remember to keep Christ first for the days will be long and tiresome but the rewards will be great. May God Bless you and keep you safe. Westview Baptist Church Opp, Alabama
