We're here!

by Annie Schoessler | March 8, 2014 8:20 PM

Everyone arrived safe and sound today! After arriving, we spent some great time playing with the kids and then ate a delicious dinner of fried chicken and rice and beans! We are tired but excited to see what God has in store for our time here. The pastor spoke with us and is so gracious. It's going to be a great week!

First day of ministry

by Annie Schoessler | March 10, 2014 8:10 PM

We have been having a great trip so far! I'm sorry the Internet connection here has prevented me from posting more photos, but this place is beautiful and we are having a wonderful time! On Sunday, we got to worship with our Haitian brothers and sisters and it was incredible. We also got to spend a little bit of time with the boys at Life is Hope orphanage. Today, we did a program for the children in the morning and then set to work painting a room in the school. We had plans to do another program in the afternoon, but we ended up having such a great time hanging out with the kids that we never actually got around to doing what we had planned! God is moving in big ways through the trip and the people we are encountering!

School Yard Fun

The team has been enjoying serving at the school here at Pastor Josue's each morning. From skits, to games we've had so much fun getting to connect with all their beautiful faces.

Painting at School

by Annie | March 12, 2014 11:57 AM

Our service project for the week has been painting the school and classrooms with a fresh clean coat of paint. What a difference it makes! We love knowing that we are helping out the teachers, the school as a whole and blessing the children with a fresh atmosphere!

Sunday Best

by Annie | March 12, 2014 1:34 PM

Here's a picture from our whole team singing at church on Sunday, in our Sunday best. It was a wonderful and Spirit filled time of worship, as we experienced a full service in Creole. However, the worship leader tried his hand at mixing in songs that we knew in English. It was beautiful to hear two languages come together to worship the same God, how big is the God of the nations!

Last day of ministry

by Annie Schoessler | March 13, 2014 6:17 AM

Yesterday was our last full day off ministry here in Bon Repos. Our lesson for the kids focused on how God loves us and we shared with them the story of the prodigal son. We were also able to finish painting the school! Later in the afternoon, we hosted a party for nearly 60 of the kids from the community. It was so great to see the kids again - and they even dressed up in their nice clothes for the dinner! God has been so faithful to us this week. We can't wait to share even more stories with you when we get back!

Last day!

by Annie Schoessler | March 14, 2014 2:10 PM

We had an awesome last day and a half in Haiti. On Thursday, we spent the first part of the day at the girls orphanage at Life is Hope. We spent a few hours loving around 90 of the most adorable Haitian girls you can imagine. We then drove up to the public beach past Cabaret. It was GORGEOUS! God gifted us with the most perfect day imaginable and we spent the day soaking up some rays, swimming, and even got a water taxi ride over to a reef where we could go snorkeling! God truly instilled awesome beauty in this place. This morning, we stopped by the boys orphanage of Life is Hope for a little while in the morning before heading to the airport. We are sad to leave but cannot wait to share our stories with you when we get home!
