Update from Zion Lutheran Church
Children's Ministry & Rec

by Cory | February 19, 2014 8:44 AM

As you saw, the team had started the construction on the building for the church to have more classrooms. We had to install about 10 windows, and got it all done! All we have to do is finish breaking stones to be the base of the walk way and level out some sand on the side of the church. We also had started the children's ministry at the church. The first day we had about 60 kids, and yesterday we had about 85 kids at the VBS. We had a huge success in making it an awesome day for the kids. Yesterday morning, we had some recreation time at the Mayan Ruin, Lamanei. This is the third largest ruin in Belize. This picture is about 18 of the 24 people that dared to climb it. More pictures to come shortly of the School Ministry, VBS, and Construction!!!

Dear Jayce (and friends), I am praying for you all each time I think of you. I am praying that VBS is moving and that kids hearts are changed through the holy spirit. Your work there is not unnoticed, and the Lord looks on you all with favor. I will be praying for strength and energy as you work there, and that the Lord would bless your time and make it fruitful. One verse that has been a comfort to me lately, and I hope brings you comfort as you may be stepping out of your comfort zone is Luke 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Let his peace overwhelm you all as you're on your journey in Belize, and may you be aware of his presence always. In love, Emmi

Wow! This is awesome! I love the picture. After months of prep and planning you are finally there and ready to get to work. I pray that the Holy Spirit will move through you this week to do amazing things in His name and that your experience will leave a lasting impression on those you serve. Stay strong, stay safe.

I love the picture, too. Can't wait to see more and hear about all you are doing. Zion prayed for you at all 3 worship services this weekend and keep you in our hearts! Enjoy, serve and grow. You will all come home changed good and changed for God because of what you do this week. Hi Kurt! I will wave to you tomorrow from across the Gulf of Mexico....I know you are closer to the Caribbean, but it is the right general direction :) love you dearly, Kid~
