Waiting for team's arrival

by PPM Staff | January 26, 2013 12:26 PM

The PPM staff is waiting for the team's arrival to Belize. We are eagerly anticipating the reunions with Pastor Angel and his congregation as well as the dynamic ministry that The Lord will do through us this week! Praise God!

Arrival

by PPM Staff | January 26, 2013 7:26 PM

We have arrived! We all made it to Belize and before heading to BBQ dinner Eustace we were able to see some of our staff friends from last year. We had our orientation meeting and now it's off to bed! We are looking forward to tomorrow seeing all of our friends!

Sunday School

by PPM Staff | January 27, 2013 10:07 PM

This morning was a joyous time for our team. Many of us ran to greet old friends, really family from our many times coming to El Buen Pastor before. There were hugs that lasted extra long and most assuredly some tears. Many others were blown away to see the kids engage in the Sunday School lesson about Zaccheus. What a blessing it is to be able to serve these children all week with a VBS!

Life Stories

by PPM Staff | January 27, 2013 10:10 PM

Before we went out for door to door visits and hospital visitation, we were able to break off into small groups and share our life stories. It was a true blessing to hear our team open and share with one another. We then went out to invite the kids to VBS and the church services during the week. We left from the area around the church and went to the hospital. We toured the hospital with our good friend Nurse Lupe and prayed with several patients. Words cannot express the power of the prayers being lifted up during that time! The Holy Spirit was there and moving.

Family Worship

by PPM Staff | January 27, 2013 10:15 PM

We had a FANTASTIC service tonight with our friends and family at Buen Pastor! The praise and worship was rockin' and Pastor Harold (with Pastor Angel translating) spoke a powerful message on fixing our eyes upon Jesus and finishing the race. Most exciting was that there were many of our friends and teammates who stepped forward to receive prayers of encouragement to finish the race of their lives while fixing their eyes on Jesus.

Construction

Monday morning we jumped into our ministries head first. Part of our team headed over to Sister Maria's house and painted. Others started work on framing Sister Gladis's roof, and the dental clinic kicked into high gear. Painting was fun, once we realized how to mix the paint. Ask one of us about that when we return!

Prayer Walking

by PPM Staff | January 29, 2013 6:52 AM

A group of us went prayer walking throughout the village this afternoon while some construction was finishing up. It was an amazing time of listening to and responding to the Holy Spirit. We even had the chance to lead someone to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior!

VBS - day 1

by PPM Staff | January 29, 2013 6:57 AM

Superhero VBS kicked off with a lot of songs, dancing, and loving on kids from the past and new kids too. Games, story, craft, were all a lot of fun! We had over 75 kids today. Pray for that number to double on Tuesday!

Mayan Temples

by PPM Staff | January 31, 2013 7:02 AM

Tuesday morning we left after breakfast to enjoy some of Belize's rich cultural history. After traveling through the sugar cane fields, Mennonite communities and farm land, we reached Lamanai. We were blown away at the scale of the temples and history of the place. All of us climbed to the top and came down. Boy, was it steep!??!!

Tuesday Afternoon

by PPM Staff | January 31, 2013 7:05 AM

In the afternoon Tuesday, some of our team went out with Pastor Angel's wife to pray for those who need healing in the village. While that was going on many of us prepared for VBS. We had about 100 kids where they continued to learn about Jesus' love for them! It was a great time as the kids that came yesterday for the first time started running up and giving hugs to their leaders RIGHT AWAY!

School Assembly

by PPM Staff | January 31, 2013 7:10 AM

Yesterday morning before we heading to our construction projects, the team was treated to a school assembly at Louisiana Government School. All the kids were out and standing at attention. Then it was such a privilege to hear the school band play with some of the instruments we donated in the past! After the assembly, we were able to present the donations to the school and share the stories of those back home that made the donations possible!

HARD WORK! That's how the morning and afternoon construction projects MUST be described. After the school assembly, we got to work on Rosendo's roof and Maria's concrete foundation. Everyone jumped right in and finished both those projects before lunch! After lunch, a group of us went to Trial Farm to another sister's house and began to dig out the trenches for her new cement floor. HARD WORK!!

Church Services

by PPM Staff | January 31, 2013 7:21 AM

We had two nights of AMAZING church services. Tuesday night we had a separate men's and women's bible studies. Jim taught on how Jesus was God and with God since the beginning. He reminded us that Jesus is the I AM in Exodus. We then shared prayer requests for over an hour with the men in the church. Men from our team and El Buen Pastor were calling for God to break them of habitual sin, asking for healing, etc. It was emotional! Well it was ladies night inside of the church and the doors were closed, so the men don't really know what happened. I do know that people were healed of illnesses and that all the women were blessed by resting in the Holy Spirit. Last night Ms. Linda preached circles around us as she shared a word on the power we have in Christ. It was a powerful service which ended when many of us went up front to receive prayer from the members of the congregation. The Spirit moved in that room and in each of our hearts in a big way last night at service.

Glory of the Lord

by PPM Staff | February 4, 2013 10:04 AM

What a great week. We ended it with the sunrise over the horizon on the Caye. We talked that this trip isn't the end of some project that we just completed but a point in the process of our faith. As we go home and reflect on all God has done and is doing, we will have the picture of God's glory shining on us and through us! Praise God!

Way to go, Emily! We are so proud of your diligence in the Lord. You and Linda make a great duo in the dental picture. Can't wait to hear news of what the Lord has done this week. Big High-five to the entire group for their obedience in being Jesus' hands and feet in Belize for all of the pray-ers back here. Come back rejoicing on angels' wings.
