A Warm Welcome

by Allison Onstead | July 19, 2026 11:58 AM

After arriving safely at First Baptist Church of Waldorf yesterday evening, we got settled in and started preparing for an incredible week ahead of us. This morning, we had the opportunity to worship together during Sunday school and church, where we met many of the wonderful members of the congregation we’ll be serving alongside this week. We’re so thankful for the warm welcome and excited to see all that God has in store for the week!

Food for Christ

by Christopher Lund | July 21, 2026 9:04 AM

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to serve at Martha’s Table, a community organization that supports those in need by providing food at no cost. Martha’s Table also serves the community through early childhood education, teen and young adult programs, family support services, and other initiatives that help families thrive. We had so much fun serving alongside one another, sharing smiles and even a few wiggles (our dance moves) throughout the day.

Together, Martha’s Table was able to serve more than 600 people yesterday—a tremendous blessing to witness. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in meeting the needs of the community and serving wherever we were needed.

Made With Love

by Allison Onstead | July 21, 2026 3:56 PM

This afternoon, we had the opportunity to prepare 25 individual meals to deliver to a local women’s shelter. We made a delicious pulled pork dinner with all of the sides, and we also included handwritten notes of encouragement for each woman.

Before delivering the meals, we gathered together to pray over them and for every woman who will receive them, asking God to bless them, encourage them, and remind them of His love. It was a wonderful afternoon, and we’re so grateful for the chance to share both a meal and the love of Christ!

Serving Those Who Serve

by Christopher Lund | July 22, 2026 1:11 PM

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to serve at LifeStyles, an organization that helps meet the needs of the community by providing clothing, food, financial assistance, and other supportive services.

Our team completed a variety of projects around the facility, including removing flooring, moving furniture and other items into a box truck, setting up benches, and packing bags to help lighten the workload of the staff and volunteers.

We were truly blessed to play a small part in serving an organization that faithfully serves individuals and families throughout Southern Maryland. We are grateful for the opportunity to support those who dedicate their time to caring for others.

Gardening for Christ

by Christopher Lund | July 23, 2026 2:24 PM

Today, we had the opportunity to serve at the Franciscan Monastery Garden. We learned that all of the produce grown in the garden is harvested and distributed to families experiencing food insecurity. Our team helped harvest ripe vegetables, remove weeds, and sort through the crops we collected.

We were grateful to be part of a ministry that provides fresh food to those in need. It was a blessing to serve, and we will continue to pray for the garden, its volunteers, and the families it serves.

Loving Our Neighbors

by Christopher Lund | July 23, 2026 2:32 PM

This afternoon, we had the opportunity to serve alongside Seabury Resources For Aging . We were blessed to help Mrs. Brown with a variety of yardwork projects, including weed eating, mowing, trimming, and other outdoor tasks. As we worked, we also had the chance to learn more about her life and hear some of her story.

It was a joy to help care for her property and spend time in fellowship together. We enjoyed a refreshing break with watermelon and water under her deck, which made for a special time of conversation and community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Mrs. Brown and pray for her continued health and well-being. We also pray for Seabury and the important work they do in assisting older adults and meeting needs throughout the community.

On The Road Again

by Christopher Lund | July 24, 2026 9:59 AM

It’s time to set sail.

We’ve had an awesome week serving in plenty of ministries and seeing the way God has been working in the DC area. Now it’s time to take what was learned here and bring it back home.

What a week it’s been!
