Bellville Youth Group

We are exciting to be attending our partner church St John Missionary Church. Fitting name, they warmly and lovingly received us as missionaries.

What a wonderful way to end this first full day on Sunday than worshipping the God we love together.

We arrived at our first worksite at the Church at Asheville. Today, we are cutting back Kudzo, an invasive plant that has choked back all of their native vegetation after the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Additionally, we are building a retaining rock wall to help with an area that is prone to erosion after flooding.

We are super excited to be serving at the Church at Asheville. They were one of the first churches in the area to begin reaching out to people after the hurricane. They have graciously housed many Praying Pelicans teams, and we are excited to be able to help them out this week!

Today we are continuing our two projects from yesterday at the Church at Asheville. We also dug out the trench and filled it with rocks.

After a generous lunch provided by the Church at Asheville, our group got to hear from Pastor Kevin, who explained a little bit of his story and how the Church at Asheville aided the local area after Hurricane Helene. Now, we are back at work with a renewed appreciation for how this church has impacted its community!
