A Walk Worth Taking
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 11:55 AM
Our trip to Belize has been absolutely amazing! Today was a picture of quiet faithfulness in action. As we trekked through the fields toward Arlene’s home. Our team was reminded that ministry often looks like simple obedience and steady steps forward. We had the privilege of helping a single mother move out of one house and into another—a fresh start made possible through love, teamwork, and God’s provision.

Love that Lifts
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:02 PM
Helping Arlene reminded us that love often looks like lifting, carrying, and doing hard things together with joy. As we moved her belongings piece by piece, there was laughter on the steps and strength shared among the team. What could have felt heavy became light because everyone leaned in to help.
This wasn’t just about moving household items, it was about restoring dignity, offering hope, and standing with a family during a moment of transition. Seeing smiles on her kid’s faces in the middle of the work reminded us that when we serve together, God turns ordinary tasks into meaningful ministry.

Strength in Unity
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:06 PM
As we worked side by side, we were reminded that God uses ordinary moments to shape character. When we choose to help carry the load for someone else, we reflect the heart of Christ in the simplest, most tangible ways.

More Than a Move
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:10 PM
After the work was finished and the last item was set in place, we gathered for a photo with Arlene and her kids in front of her new home. What began as a day of lifting, carrying, and serving ended with smiles, relief, and gratitude. Standing together, we could see more than a house behind us, we saw a fresh start.
This moment reminded us that ministry is never just about the task. It’s about people. It’s about dignity restored, burdens shared, and hope made visible through simple acts of love. We are thankful for the chance to walk alongside Arlene in this transition and grateful to God for a team willing to serve with joy.
Days like today stay with you. They remind you why you came and how God shows up in the ordinary, turning hard work into holy moments.

Filling Bags, Feeding Hope
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:17 PM
After helping Arlene settle into her new home, our day continued in a different but just as meaningful way. We headed to the store to purchase food for care packages that will be distributed to families in need throughout Burrell Boom. Walking the aisles, counting items, and filling carts became another form of ministry.
Each bag represented a household, a story, and a reminder that God sees every need. What might look like ordinary grocery shopping was actually an act of love in motion choosing nourishment, dignity, and care for families who may be seeing difficult days.

Packing Hope, One Bag at a Time
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:34 PM
After returning to the church, the room quickly filled with movement, conversation, and purpose. Tables became assembly lines as our team worked side by side to package food bags for families in Burrell Boom. Each item placed in a bag was chosen with care, knowing it would soon meet a real need in a real home.
There was something powerful about watching our team lean in together. What could have been a routine task became a moment of unity, generosity, and quiet prayer. These bags were more than groceries; they were reminders to families that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
As the bags were sealed with notes written by our team, we were reminded again that ministry often happens in the simple, unseen moments. When willing hands come together with compassionate hearts, God uses even the smallest acts to carry His love far beyond the walls of the church.

Giving Thanks Together
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:43 PM
We closed the day gathered together at Burrell Boom Nazarene Church for a beautiful evening service. After a full day of serving, moving homes, preparing food bags, and caring for families, we came together to rest in worship and give thanks for all that God had done.
The sanctuary was filled with people from the community and our team, united in song, prayer, and the Word. It was a powerful reminder that ministry flows from worship, and worship fuels ministry. In that shared space, we experienced God’s presence in a quiet, steady way, strengthening hearts and renewing joy.

From Strangers to Family
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 12:52 PM
After service had ended, our team spent time with the local church family, talking, laughing, sharing stories, and simply being together. There was no agenda, no rush, just genuine connection.
Seeing our team and the Burrell Boom church family together was a beautiful picture of the body of Christ, different backgrounds, one faith, united by love. These are the moments that linger long after the trip ends, reminding us that God builds family wherever His people gather.

No Words - Just Presence

After the service ended, Ashley stood holding a baby, offering comfort, warmth, and gentle love. No words were needed just presence. :-).

Sweet Fellowship
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 8:09 PM
As the service came to an end, no one seemed in a hurry to leave. Conversations filled the room, laughter echoed between the pews, and relationships continued to grow long after the final prayer. It was one of those moments where you could sense that God was still at work, not through a sermon or song, but through connection.

Getting Ready to Paint
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 8:30 PM
As we prepared to begin painting the inside of the church today, we quietly took down the Christmas tree, marking a gentle transition from one season to the next. As decorations were packed away and walls made ready for fresh paint, we were reminded that renewal often begins with willingness to clear, clean, and serve faithfully in the unseen tasks.

Servant - Leadership
by Herman Blease | January 5, 2026 8:39 PM
As we prepared the church for painting, the pastor’s wife , Ruby, worked right alongside our team, lifting, sorting, and serving with quiet joy. Her willingness to step in and help set the tone for the day, reminding us that leadership in ministry often looks like humility and shared effort. Watching her serve so faithfully was a powerful example of partnership and love for her church. It was clear that this work wasn’t just a project to her, it was a labor of care for the place where her community gathers and worships.

Fresh Paint - New Vision
by Herman Blease | January 6, 2026 10:36 PM
As our team worked together to give the church a fresh coat of paint, the room began to feel lighter and renewed. With every stroke of paint, we weren’t just refreshing walls, we were helping prepare a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and the next season of ministry. This simple act of service carried deep significance: caring for God’s house as a reflection of our love for the people who gather within it and for the work God continues to do here.

Faithful in the Details
by Herman Blease | January 6, 2026 10:42 PM
As Eric carefully trimmed the paint along the edges, his attention to detail stood out. What could have been rushed was done with patience and excellence, reflecting a heart that believes every part of God’s house matters. In moments like this, we’re reminded that faithfulness is often shown in the small things. When we serve with care and intention, even a simple brushstroke becomes an act of worship.

Joyful Praise for Little Hearts
by Herman Blease | January 6, 2026 10:59 PM
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
As Matt and his family sang “2 by 2” for the kids at VBS, the room filled with joy, laughter, and truth presented in a way children could receive. Through music, movement, and smiles, the story of God’s faithfulness was brought to life, reminding us that worship doesn’t have to be complicated to be powerful.

An Epic Week of Faith and Fun
by Herman Blease | January 7, 2026 8:53 PM
What an incredible week of VBS! Seeing the kids laughing and playing together under the colorful parachute captured the joy that filled every moment. From energetic dancing and fun games to creative crafts, the church grounds were alive with excitement all week long. Each day was a celebration of learning, friendship, and faith.
One of the highlights was Sally faithfully sharing the Word of God in ways the children could understand and remember. Seeds were planted, hearts were opened, and smiles told the story of a week that truly mattered. VBS wasn’t just fun, it was meaningful, and we are grateful for an epic week where joy and God’s truth went hand in hand.

Home Visits: Where Ministry Becomes Personal
by Herman Blease | January 7, 2026 10:11 PM
One of the most life-changing parts of this week was the time spent visiting homes. Stepping into living rooms and kitchens, sitting with families, listening to their stories, and praying together reminded us that ministry is deeply personal. In those quiet moments, walls came down, tears were shared, and God was so present!
Each visit ended with prayer and a simple bag of food, but what was exchanged went far beyond that. These house visits changed us just as much as they encouraged the families we met, showing us again that when we meet people where they are, God does powerful work.

A Week That Marked Us
by Herman Blease | January 9, 2026 9:37 AM
As our week came to an end, this final piggyback ride captured more than a playful moment, it captured the heart of what this trip has meant to us. Each hug, prayer, and shared smile left a mark on our hearts.
This trip changed us as a team. We arrived ready to serve, but we’re leaving deeply shaped by the people we met and the moments we shared. God reminded us that ministry isn’t measured by projects completed, but by lives touched, including our own.

Songs, Stories and S’mores
by Herman Blease | January 9, 2026 9:47 AM
As the week came to a close, we gathered around the bonfire with the church family to celebrate all that God had done. Under the night sky, worship filled the air, testimonies were shared, and stories of God’s faithfulness reminded us why this week mattered.
Roasting s’mores and laughing together, we realized this moment perfectly captured the heart of the mission: serving, worshiping, and belonging together. It was a beautiful ending to a week marked by hard work, meaningful conversations, and deep connections. We leave grateful, encouraged, and confident that God will continue the work He has already begun here.

One Week, One Family
by Herman Blease | January 9, 2026 10:03 AM
As we gathered for this final photo with the children, church leaders, and Pastor Linsdale and Ruby, it was clear just how deeply connected we had become by the end of the week. What started as a mission trip quickly turned into a shared journey. Faces that were once unfamiliar now felt like family.
Looking around, we could see the evidence of what God had done: children impacted, relationships strengthened, and hearts encouraged on both sides. We leave grateful for the privilege of serving alongside this church and celebrating the work God is doing here. This week reminded us that missions is not just about what we accomplish, but about the unity God builds when His people walk together in love and purpose.
