Westwood Church

After arriving safely at First Baptist Church of Waldorf, where we’ll be staying and serving this week, we jumped right into Day 1 of Vacation Bible School!

We had the joy of serving alongside the church as we taught kids about how they are God’s wonderful creation and how deeply He loves each one of them. From playing games and sharing snacks to learning about God and spending time together, it was a morning full of laughter, fun, and meaningful connections. We’re so excited to return for Day 2 tomorrow!

Monday afternoon was spent serving at First Baptist Church in Waldorf through weeding, landscaping, and a variety of other projects to help care for the campus. We then wrapped up the day with a prayer walk, taking time to pray over the church and the surrounding community. It was a meaningful time of both serving and reflecting as we thanked God for all He has already done and prayed with anticipation for all He will continue to do.

VBS Day 2 was in full swing as we learned all about God’s incredible creations! From butterflies and tree bark to leaves and flowers, every part of nature in our world points back to the creativity and care of our Creator. Best of all, we were reminded that His greatest creation is each one of us, made uniquely in His image and loved deeply by Him. It was another morning full of laughter, learning, games, and growing together in God’s Word, and we can’t wait to see what Day 3 has in store!

Day 3 of VBS kicked off with lots of singing, laughter, and fun! Today we learned that God is our refuge and our safe place, someone we can always trust and rest in!

The day was filled with games, crafts, Bible lessons, and plenty of smiles as we spent time with the kids, teaching them more about God’s love and the beauty of His creation. We’re so thankful for another incredible day and can’t wait to see what God has in store for tomorrow!

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to serve at LifeStyles, an organization that helps meet the needs of the community by providing clothing, food, financial assistance, and other supportive services. The location we served at was one of their thrift stores, where individuals and families can shop for clothing, jewelry, furniture, and other household items that are all completely free to those who make appointments!

Our team sorted clothing, shoes, towels, blankets, and other donated items to help prepare them for the store. Some of us also had the opportunity to talk with people shopping at the store, and it was such a blessing to see the smiles on their faces and see the joy inside of them.

We have been incredibly honored to witness how God is working through LifeStyles to serve the Southern Maryland community. We are thankful for the opportunity to be part of their ministry and look forward to all that God has in store for the rest of the week.

Day 4 of VBS was all about discovering God’s incredible love for us! Through games, crafts, Bible stories, and interactive lessons, we learned just how deep, faithful, and unchanging His love is. It was another afternoon filled with laughter, learning, and making memories with the kids. We’re so thankful for the opportunity to share the love of Christ with the kids, and we can’t wait to wrap up an amazing week of VBS with our final day tomorrow!

Day 5 of VBS wrapped up an incredible week as we learned that God is forever and all-powerful! We celebrated the end of an amazing week with more games, Bible stories, and laughter. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside First Baptist Church of Waldorf during their VBS!

Came into this week with lots of struggles and delays getting down to the D.C. area but this week has been a blast with VBS kids and so much fun.

It’s been a blessing to see how Gods been working this week and we look forward to what God will do next.
