Dignity of Choice
by Genevieve Seppala | April 7, 2026 4:04 PM
First day was already amazing! First half of us got to partner with 12 Baskets, an organization that builds community and eliminates poverty by using food and showing the abundance of it. We took their food orders and then made their plates and served it to them! Towards the end here we got to make ourselves a plate, sit, and talk with them!

Beloved Community

Nothing better than a prayer circle at the end of our serving. Praying blessings and most definitely safety over 12 Baskets Cafe as they continue to serve those in their community who are still recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Caffeine Rush

The other half of us were serving over at ABCCM Crisis Ministry, a distribution center where those in need can create a list of things they need and the employees will go bag those items up and serve it to them. With the efficiency of our sorting and stocking we had the pleasure to set up the kitchen crew to be set for the next 2 weeks!

A Place for Everything
by Genevieve Seppala | April 8, 2026 12:10 PM
Along with the kitchen work they had a whole clothing room where we helped sort and organize. Even a simple task like this one helps them out tremendously as the team will bag up items by the needed requests and distribute to those in need.

Gracious Donations
by Genevieve Seppala | April 9, 2026 6:39 AM
The distribution center all throughout the day receives new donations and anything and everything. We got to help load them in and then that’s what started our sorting. We even heard that the people in need will re donate their items to help with recycling them around!

Fresh Morning

To get our hearts in the right place for the day, Colton starts us off with a impactful devotion. That morning he shared Philippians 2 with us. Which is such a great reminder to walk and serve like Jesus. From verse 3-5, “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

Skilled Organizers

Our entire team locked down and accomplished many tasks at The PVA Community Center. Here we are sorting through the kitchen and organizing items for the Manna food distribution.

Bob the Builders

To help with our organizing we gifted them brand new shelves, but first we had the pleasure of building them!!

Prayer Roundup
by Genevieve Seppala | April 9, 2026 4:41 PM
Towards the end a few of the local kids came around and we got to hang around with them for a little. Then after all our little jobs here and there, we circled around to extend prayer and blessings over this community center. Ms. Hannah was such a sweet lady to meet and get to see her devotion to these kids!

TEAMWORK!

And again today we all locked in and achieved many tasks. We all went to the Veterans Healing Farm, where they grow produce and flowers. All is donated back to veterans!

One project we got to help with at the farm was sorting roses. lol we never realized how many different kinds of roses there are. With these flowers they will pant and grow them and then create bouquets out of them to donate to veterans and the VA Hospitals!!

Where Growth Begins
