Shopping and Preparation for 200

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 10:27 AM

Pastor Miguel is joyfully shopping for all the ingredients and supplies needed for the food preparation during our visit to the community of Yuracyacu. We will be preparing and sharing both breakfasts and lunches with the entire community. We are planning to prepare 200 meals. God is good!

A warm welcome!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 10:43 AM

Upon our arrival in this community, we were immediately greeted by the Apu (the communal chief), who delivered a heartfelt and articulate welcome speech to our missionary group. He didn't just offer standard greetings; he eloquently expressed his unwavering support for any endeavor or necessity we might have during our stay within the community's boundaries.

Furthermore, he conveyed that the entire population had been in a state of eager anticipation since the early hours of the morning, specifically to welcome us and offer a truly generous gesture: a spread of delicious, home-cooked meals prepared lovingly by the community members themselves.

Wasting no time after this profoundly warm reception, we promptly settled our belongings. We then proceeded directly to partake in the incredible blessing of these foods, recognizing it as a deeply meaningful act of hospitality and fellowship.

Finding God in the Act of Receiving

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 10:55 AM

With unbridled joy illuminating their faces as they presented this food, I couldn't help but wonder if they were more blessed by our visit or if we were more profoundly blessed by their overwhelming hospitality. Truly, God reveals to us through moments like these that the act of participating in mission work isn't simply about the tangible act of giving, but also about the profound spiritual experience of receiving such heartfelt acts of grace and genuine welcome.

Between Laughter and Flavors

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 11:01 AM

I don't know about you, but this looks absolutely scrumptious! It’s clear that each of these remarkable ladies individually poured their heart into preparing a dish. What a spectacular spread! Today, we were treated to a veritable feast, so abundant that we could barely make a dent in all the glorious food that was brought in. Beyond the incredible meal, we shared a truly delightful time, filled with hearty laughter, stimulating conversation, and the sheer pleasure of savoring all these wonderful culinary creations.

Preparing for the Evening's Program

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 11:08 AM

We commenced the meticulous preparations for the evening's assembly. Pastor Miguel, taking hold of the microphone, began to cordially extend invitations to the gathered individuals for the various activities planned throughout the night. Our schedule included the screening of a Christian film and a subsequent brief, yet meaningful, worship service.

A Night of Christian Cinema and Divine Worship

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 11:14 AM

By the grace of God, the rain held off today, which allowed the entire community to joyfully assemble. We gathered not only to enjoy the showing of a Christian film but also, and more importantly, to spend a meaningful time immersed in the Word of God. Additionally, we took the opportunity to announce the schedule of our activities planned for the following day.

Time of worship and praise!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 11:24 AM

Our Sunday morning commenced with a deeply moving and spirited session of praise and worship, expertly led by our sister, Jackeline. The atmosphere was vibrant as a significant portion of the community gathered, bringing with them their young children, who added a wonderful energy to the collective spiritual experience.

Breakfast for everyone!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 12:43 PM

Today, there was truly no excuse for anyone to miss church. A full breakfast was lovingly prepared and provided for the entire community. It was the children, in particular, who seemed to revel in it the most. Apparently, the butter stood out as the most savored component of this morning's meal. What a profound blessing it is to be able to share all of this—this time, this fellowship, and this bounty—with the populace!

time for the Word of God!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 1:33 PM

Today's lesson was taken from the Book of 2 John, chapter 1. Brother Manuel was our preacher today. The children's program was held separately outdoors; only the adults remained inside the church for the teaching.

Children's bible School

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 1:39 PM

Guess what? Our Sunday Bible class was outside, right in the open air! Today's story was about Jonah. Francimas was a lifesaver, holding all the visuals and drawings so the little ones could understand everything better and super clearly. Jackeline gave it her all—she was incredible!

Jonah's story!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 1:43 PM

The children delivered a delightful and comprehensive presentation of the day's class material. They proudly displayed their newly acquired knowledge by reciting the scriptural verses they had committed to memory and performing a charming song that they had learned during the session. Furthermore, they offered a succinct yet engaging description of the narrative arc and key events of the historical story they had studied today, ensuring all attendees understood the lesson's main points.

Lunch prep!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 1:57 PM

As the service unfolds and activities progress within the church, involving both the adults and the children, our dedicated sister is already putting the finishing touches on lunch for the entire community. Today's main course is "Picante con arroz" (Spicy Stew with Rice)—a delightful, hearty dish featuring a savory stew base, generous portions of potatoes, tender chicken pieces, and sweet carrots. It's truly delicious! We know with absolute certainty that the entire community will enjoy this wonderful meal immensely.

The Power of a Shared Meal in Uniting Our Community.

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | October 6, 2025 2:04 PM

The noon hour heralded the arrival of lunchtime, and families from all quarters began to converge upon the kitchen, eager to partake in the delicious meal prepared. It proved to be a source of immense blessing for everyone present, extending even to those who were unable to attend the day's church service, as they, too, were able to receive a nourishing plate of food. By the time the last bite was taken, all were thoroughly satisfied and genuinely content with these types of communal activities. Such events invariably serve to deeply reinforce the spirit of unity and warm fellowship among the cherished members of the community.
