Arrived!

by Kimberly Beneteau | April 30, 2026 7:27 PM

After a long plane ride, we arrived safely at Valley Isle Fellowship. So excited to see what this week and God has in store for us!

Waipuna Chapel

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 2, 2026 2:53 PM

We worked at Waipuna Chapel. We cut and chopped down a tree that was damaging the parking lot. It was also reaching over the fence on the neighbors property. So we spent the morning cutting it up and chipping it.

Planting Trees

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 2, 2026 3:03 PM

We spent the morning planting native trees. The fires and the flooding had wiped out quite a few trees from these areas. So we planted more! It was fun to get dirty and fellowship with each other.

Spreading Chips

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 2, 2026 3:08 PM

We spent the afternoon spreading some wood chips at Brad and Donna’s house. When the flooding was happening, a rush of water flowed down the side of their property. The animal pens and the ground was swept away. The water was flowing for 2 days. So we helped spread some wood chips to help the soil not get swept away and hopefully grass will start to grow again.

Finding the Fish Pond

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 2, 2026 3:10 PM

We spent the afternoon digging out a fish pond for Ms. Karen. When the flooding happened it moved quite a bit of mud near Ms. Karen house. The fish pond was completely covered in about 3-4 feet of mud. So we filled about 67 wheel-barrels of mud!

Chip that Wood

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 2, 2026 6:28 PM

During the last storm, some of the trees had some BIG branches fall down. So we spent the day cutting up and putting wood through the chipper at Pastor Kaipo’s in-laws house. It was lots of fun using some chain saws and the chipper!

Time for Church

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 4, 2026 6:15 PM

We spent Sunday morning at Valley Isle Fellowship, where we had the privilege of worshiping alongside such a welcoming and joyful congregation. Their excitement to have us was evident, and we’re truly looking forward to serving with them in the community this week.

Beach Time!

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 4, 2026 6:20 PM

After church, we spent a peaceful afternoon at Baby Beach in Paʻia, soaking in the sunshine and the beauty around us. We were lucky enough to spot a few sea turtles along the shore but the most powerful moment was witnessing four students choose to be baptized. It was such a special reminder that faith doesn’t wait for the “perfect” place or time. Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen right where you are, even at the beach.

Lahaina Resource and Recovery Center-Donating Sorting

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 4, 2026 6:25 PM

We spent the day at the Lahaina Resource and Recovery Center sorting donations and getting everything ready for this weekend’s Mother’s Day event.

We also painted the room where the moms will gather, helping create a space that feels welcoming and special. We’re truly grateful for the chance to serve in a hands-on way.

Lahaina Resource and Recovery Center Dump Runs

We helped clear out some old furniture out from storage. The furniture that was being dumped was unusable and needed to go so they would have space for newer things!

Finishing Touches

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 4, 2026 6:42 PM

We spent the day working on a home built for a family whose previous house was one of about 40 that were lost in the fires a few years ago. We helped add some of the finishing touches, including installing bird vents, and it was meaningful to be part of bringing the home one step closer to completion.

Village of Hope

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 4, 2026 11:52 PM

Today, we partnered with Village of Hope to support children in the foster care system. We reviewed care bags that had been prepared for children entering new placements often during confusing and uncertain transitions when many of their belongings have been lost. Our role was to carefully check each bag to ensure it included all items on the checklist, helping provide comfort and essential resources during a difficult time.

Maui Rescue Mission

by Kimberly Beneteau | May 6, 2026 2:33 PM

We spent the day with Maui Rescue Mission. They provide showers and laundry services to the houseless community. So we helped wash, dry, and fold their laundry. We got to spend time with some of the people and fellowship with them. They were so welcoming of us and we had a great time!

We spent the day working at Lahaina Rescue and Recovery Center. We went shopping for material for Umeke La’au. We sorted out some clothes for the Mother’s Day event on Saturday! We loved spending the day and helping out!
