There's nothing quite like arriving in Lake Charles, La ! Mr. Larry, the host church coordinator, welcomes every team with the epitome of southern hospitality and then they were off to eat some amazing Cajun cuisine!

After a day filled with a worship and fellowship double header at University United Methodist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church why not wind down shooting some hoops while waiting on showers?

Today the team worked at the Port of Mercy for Friendship Missions. The challenge was to receive, sort, and pack food for local soup kitchens and clothes for families in Syria. One things continues to come to mind, whether near or far there are needs to be met and lives to be touched.

Building bunk beds at Sleep in Heavenly Peace was very heart warming. Every lead volunteer shared the amazing experiences they have had delivering these beds to children that are so grateful to have a bed that they get in their pajamas at 5pm and go straight to bed. Learning how to use woodworking to was pretty cool too.

It's hard to beat a day that ends with making s’mores around a campfire!
