The team has arrived safely and we went through orientation!

Today was our first full day here in Wilmington! We attended our host church’s service and hung out this afternoon! We also had our first debrief tonight and talked about our day.

This morning we had the opportunity to serve at a local ministry called First Fruits. This ministry provides services for those who are homeless, facing a food shortage, or have been human trafficked. We were able to help set up for an event and pick up trash.

This afternoon we were able to help paint parts of a local school’s cafeteria. This school does a lot of work in the community and they were upgrading the school’s colors so we helped by repainting some of the cafeteria.

We got to end Monday with a time of worship and with a devotional through Philippians 1!

The kiddos from both churches joined together to play a fun murder mystery game called body body!

This morning we were able to serve at Willowdale Farms which provides free fresh produce to the surrounding community. We were able to serve by pulling weeds and plants some new plants.

The church cut down trees earlier so we got to clean up these piles and move them into a trailer to be moved later on!

Tonight we had another time of worship, devotion, and discussion of our days. It was fun to hear about everyone’s days as well as worship together!

Tonight we also got to celebrate Roy’s birthday! We are so thankful for him and his leadership as well as his heart for service!

We got to go to Good Shepard and pull weeds for them! This allows for a beautiful clean garden for the veterans who are unable to clean up the garden due to disabilities.

We got to clean some showers and bathrooms that will be used by the unhoused individuals who need a shower or restroom.

We got to play volleyball during some of our rec time before dinner at pine valley!
