Meeting

by Shari Somerville | July 19, 2026 9:20 AM

We arrived safely to the hotel yesterday, praise God. Went to the church for dinner and headed back to the hotel right after for our first official meeting of us and our leaders for this week. We are expecting the Lord to do amazing things this week through us, as we be his hands and feet.

Sunday Worship

by Shari Somerville | July 19, 2026 10:58 AM

Blessed and beautiful day to be in the house of the Lord. So happy to be back at with Pastor Ken and his church today. His message was from 2 Corinthians 12:7-10.

Paul had reason to boast. We human beings, we like to take credit for the good things we accomplish. We want the spotlight to be on us,  as oppose to being on God. If we aren’t careful, it gets to our head and we begin to believe it is us doing things.  It’s not us, but God at work in us. We don’t take time to ask God what he’s teaching us while we are going through issues in our lives. God told Paul his grace is sufficient. God is the all sufficient one. He is everything that we need because all that we have comes from God. Our limitation should be for God’s glorification. Paul was an ordinary man who had an encounter with God and his life was changed. Through the rough moments in Paul’s  life, he experienced the grace of God over and over again. We too can witness this in our lives if we only submit wholly to God and trust him with our faith

Getting an early start on clearing out the bigger rocks, lining up, digging out and leveling up the area underneath the building in preparation for tomorrow, Lord willing.

VBS Invites

by Joana Herrera | July 20, 2026 6:29 PM

A couple of us went out to do door to door home invites for our first day of VBS. But more than just inviting kids for our VBS, we got the opportunity to also pray for some of the people we met along our way. It was such a huge blessing and great experience. Blessed be the name of our Lord!

Food Ministry: Day 1

by Joana Herrera | July 20, 2026 6:45 PM

“God gives us the ingredients for our daily bread, but he expects us to do the baking.” Food Ministry is a door that God opens for us, so that we can share his word, words of encouragement to people who need it most. And that’s exactly what we did today. Being the hands and feet of our Lord.

“Be a refreshing well to others.”

~Proverbs 10:11

We had such an amazing and fun time helping Mrs. Claudia, pastor’s wife, prepare our lunch. Everything was so delicious!

VBS Day 1

by Joana Herrera | July 20, 2026 7:02 PM

We ended the day by having a blast with the kiddos on our first day of VBS. We sang and danced with them, did some crafts and played some games. Praise God that we had 51 kids today and hoping more come out tomorrow, God willing.

Concrete Floor Project

by Marconi Cano | July 21, 2026 3:07 PM

This morning, our team worked hard together to complete the pouring of a concrete floor for the Royal House of Lidia. It was a challenging project, but God gave us the strength to finish it. This new floor will provide a safer and more durable foundation for the lower part of the house. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

VBS Day 2

by Marconi Cano | July 21, 2026 4:49 PM

Today was another wonderful day of VBS, with even more children attending than yesterday. It was a joy to see so many eager faces participating in the games, crafts, and Bible storytelling. The children were engaged and excited throughout the afternoon, making every activity meaningful and fun.

Our hearts are filled with joy as we watch the children learn what it means to be the salt and light for Jesus. We thank God for each child who attended and pray that the lessons they learned today will continue to grow in their hearts.

The Bible: Our Foundation!

by Marconi Cano | July 21, 2026 5:01 PM

Today was a meaningful day as we placed a Bible inside the concrete foundation we poured. This symbolic act reminds us that God’s Word is the true foundation of our lives and of everything we do. As the concrete will support this structure for years to come, we pray that the truths of Scripture will continue to strengthen and guide all who worship and serve here. It was a special moment of faith, unity, and dedication, and we are grateful to have been part of this lasting testimony to God’s faithfulness.

Food Ministry - Day 2

by Marconi Cano | July 21, 2026 5:51 PM

Today we had the opportunity to serve the community of Bullet Tree Village by distributing food hampers to several families. As we visited each home, we shared God’s love. One of the highlights of the day was the special privilege of visiting Pastora Claudia’s mother, Ms. Brigida. It was a blessing to present her with a food hamper and spend time praying with her. Moments like these remind us that missions are not only about meeting physical needs but also about sharing the hope and love of Christ with those we encounter.

We are grateful for every open door, every heartfelt conversation, and every opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Bullet Tree Village.

Job Completion

by Shari Somerville | July 22, 2026 10:38 AM

Feeling accomplished this morning. As we look at the finished job, we are truly grateful to God for giving us strength in this heat and great teamwork. So happy to have been able to complete the cemented structure underneath the house of Lydia. Praying continued blessing and grace upon this building which is already in use to help abused women, widows and whoever needs a place to lay their head for a few days. The name of the Lord be praised.

VBS Day 3

by Shari Somerville | July 22, 2026 10:44 AM

Our hearts are a bit sad as this is the last day of VBS here in San Ignacio. This week’s theme was , “You are the Salt of the Earth and You are the Light of the World”. We are reminded, that no matter our age, as long as we serve the Lord, we need to be the light, walk like the light and portray our life like the light and Jesus is that light in us. On this last day, we are making friendship bracelets. A reminder of the week and the friends we made here at VBS.

Cave Tubing

by Shari Somerville | July 22, 2026 10:00 PM

Cave tubing happened right after zipline. We hiked about 30 minutes through parts of the jungle, listening to our guides give us information on plants, trees and animals. Belize is such a beautiful place with natural and lush beauty.

End of Day

by Shari Somerville | July 22, 2026 10:05 PM

We had our closing meeting with Pastor Ken and his family this evening . We were able to thank them for hosting us all week; as well as they thanked us for the work we did at San Ignacio Baptist Church. We thank God for the partnership formed here and look forward to continuing working alongside them in the future.
