Arrival in Alaska!

by Alissa Danielson | March 1, 2026 12:37 PM

We made it to Alaska! Praise God!

It’s one of the coldest stretches of the year, and when we landed, it was exactly 0 degrees outside! That was quite the contrast to the 92 degrees we left in Arizona. We stopped in Anchorage for a quick lunch and then enjoyed a beautiful drive on the Kenai Peninsula all the way to Homer!

We are so excited for all that God is going to do in and through our team this week.

Pastor Lanny at Regent Life Church

by Alissa Danielson | March 1, 2026 1:11 PM

Pastor Lanny welcomed us to Regent Life Church when we arrived on Saturday evening. We are really looking forward to meeting more of the Regent Life church family tomorrow, and serving as an extension of them in Homer this week!

Sunday Morning

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:39 PM

We learned quickly on Sunday morning that there is a lot going on at Regent Life Church! Some of our team joined worship team practice, others of us joined the prayer meeting, while many of us greeted members of the Regent Life family as they entered the building for Sunday prep.

Worship Team

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:40 PM

Some of us joined the worship team on Sunday, which was a blessing as the team was in need of female vocalists. We also got to share a special song with the church. We all were blessed by the beautiful lyrics of Because of Jesus - Charity Gayle!

Together with the Regent Life Family, we enjoyed some delicious food and fellowship after the church service ended.

Praying For Homer

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:50 PM

We ventured into Homer after church to explore and see more of the community we will be serving in this week. We stopped at an overlook to take in an eagles-eye view (literally, a couple of eagles flew over us!) as we prayed over the city of Homer. We asked the Lord to bless our ministry and our service, specifically the people who we would meet and the kids that are coming to VBS. Lord, have your way this week! Help us to be obedient to your will and your way. Amen!

Walking on Water!!

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:51 PM

Look at us walking on frozen Beluga Lake! Some of us spent more time with our bellies and bottoms on the ice, but we won’t say who!

The Spit

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:53 PM

The Spit is an infamous spot in Homer, known for its fishing boats and tourist shops. There isn’t much open on the Spit since it is still winter, but the beautiful views were still breathtaking!

VBS Prep

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:54 PM

One of the ministries we are so excited about this week is VBS! We spent some time on Sunday afternoon preparing the space and our materials for our week of ministry to the kids. We pray that God would meet each child that comes, and that they would share about what they learn about Jesus with their families when they return home.

Food Pantry

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:56 PM

On Monday, part of our group went to the food pantry to serve alongside their regular volunteers. They serve a meal and have a food distribution every Monday. It was fun to be a part of their regular rhythm of service!

Laundry for a Friend

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 7:59 PM

We were able to meet a woman who is connected to a friend of Pastor Lanny’s. We were able to show her the love of Jesus in a practical way by washing, drying, and folding 2-months worth of her clothes. Please pray for our friend, who asked for prayer for her health as she is anticipating an upcoming operation on her spine.

Dump Run

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 8:02 PM

We also helped our new friend by bringing some of her trash to the dump, as her truck has been inoperable for a few weeks. While at the dump, we were amazed to see countless eagles who were looking for a snack!

Projects at Regent Life Church

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 8:04 PM

A portion of our group was blessed to bless our church partner, Regent Life Church, with a few small projects around the church. It is a lot to keep up a church building, and us helping with some of the behind-the-scenes tasks allows Regent Life to have a beautiful space to host their ministry events throughout the week, and frees them up to focus on serving outside their four walls!

VBS Night 1!!

by Alissa Danielson | March 2, 2026 8:05 PM

We have a GREAT turnout for night 1 of VBS! Please pray that each of these kids would have open hearts to learning more about Jesus through our words, games, crafts, horse time, and Bible story!
