Swaim family

The team has made it to Mullen Bible Camp safe and sound and ready to serve tomorrow! 

This morning a small group went to the homes we are going to be serving at this week to see what work needs to be done. We talked through details and enjoyed meeting some of the people as well. 

This morning we went to Washburn Community Outreach to help them organize and prepare for some upcoming distribution efforts. They serve more than 400 families every week and are  connected to a local church, Salem UMC. 

This morning we painted at Gertrude's house. We were the detail crew helping to finish the exterior paint on her home. 

Here is some of the team pulling out insulation from under the house! This group works hard and it shows in how much they accomplished today! 

Dana and Calvin are neighbors and they look out for each other. The hurricane put their community through a lot, but they keep on rising up each day and doing their best. Let's continue to pray for these dear people!

Some of team Swaim got to work with the K9 training team that came to camp. They hid around the camp grounds and the dogs were given their scent and they practiced finding them. What a great organization. 

What started as ruined floors and walls is now a space that we can safely walk around, with walls stripped to continue to rebuild  the house back into their home again. What a hard working crew at Dana’s today that showed such great teamwork and grit so to finish the week strong. 

A nail gun! 

A crew went back to Gertrude’s house today to finish up trimming within the majority of the house. They had so much fun together, worked really hard and learned a lot from one another. 

Today we served with Washburn Community Outreach again. It was a big effort to prep and share the 380 boxes of food which would be abot 1000 meals. The line of cars that came for this needed food support was something that we will remember a long time. 

Hardworking, loving, caring, encouraging, wholesome, welcoming, and so much more. So blessed to have had this family here in Western North Carolina this week.
