Though yesterday was challenging, today was exceptionally fulfilling. In the photo, Team Windwood is with a local resident (fifth from the right) who endured substantial hurricane damage. We were privileged to serve him today, with Team Windwood working tirelessly to clean, install new flooring, and share heartwarming conversations with other community members.

Chopping Away All Day

Our team spent then entire day in Swannanoa where we were able to bless the local community by volunteering for Mercy Chefs. We chopped numerous peppers, squash, zucchini, onions, strawberries, cantaloupes, and more! We prepped food to be cooked in the next couple of days, washed dishes, and listened to many stories on the impact of the hurricane in the area.

Standing in the Silence

As our missions team went out to start our day, we began with a quiet prayer walk at the Top of Teen Valley Ranch here in Plumtree, North Carolina. We could feel the emotion as we really focused and placed ourselves in the shoes of those who lived through the devastation.
After our time at Teen Valley, we traveled just a short distance further to get an up close look at the damage, really allowing it to all soak in. We spent the morning wandering through the hurricane-ravaged lands, lifting prayers for healing, hope, and restoration amid the stillness of devastation.
