Getting Started

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 12:28 AM

We arrived last night and spent time getting to know one another. This team is full of diversity in skills, life stages, backgrounds, and spiritual gifts. We are excited to see how God will use each of us to be His hands and feet on the Apache Reservation this week.

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 12:35 AM

We had an amazing breakfast this morning. Many hands made light work of it!

The Armor of God

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 12:45 AM

We started the day with our morning devotional! It was a great opportunity to set our hearts on God, and the spiritual battle that is taking place around us!

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” Ephesians? ?6?:?13? ?NLT??

Planning Has Begun

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 12:52 AM

Today we broke into our respective teams and started planning for the week ahead. One of the projects we will be working on is a small house for a local family who lost their home in a fire. This new house will give them a place to call home again.

Our hope is to use the skills God has given our team to make meaningful progress on this project.

The Gospel Came Alive

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 1:01 AM

Church was AMAZING today! We started by cooking and serving a meal to everyone who came. While they ate, many shared powerful testimonies of God’s goodness. We then heard an incredible sermon, followed by an open invitation for people to surrender their lives to God and even be baptized.

Today’s service was a beautiful demonstration of the Gospel. Our ministry partner loves their community well, and it was such a blessing to join them today.

Spontaneous Baptisms

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 1:18 AM

Today’s service ended with an open invitation for people to give their lives to Jesus, and an open invitation for disciples of Jesus to be baptized. There were at least 8 people who decided today to publicly declare their inward decision to follow Jesus through baptism!!

(Rest on that for a second. Did you catch that I said that there were at least 8? It’s crazy when there are so many baptisms that you lose count!)

God is Everywhere

by Thomas Garza | July 21, 2025 1:25 AM

After a long day of planning and serving, it was nice to spend some time at the river this afternoon. The water was cold, the sun was out, and it was a great opportunity for bonding.

The Work Begins

by Thomas Garza | July 23, 2025 4:52 PM

We started working on the house on Monday! It was a bit overwhelming knowing where to start, but our fellow electrician, and a few of his new apprentices got straight to work.

A Firm Foundation

Some of the work was a bit dirty, but it’s important to have a firm foundation

Feed My Sheep

by Thomas Garza | July 23, 2025 5:01 PM

After getting cleaned up, we went straight to Town Square to “Feed His Sheep”. We made Apache Stuffed Tacos (along with a lot of help) and served many many new friends.
