First Day, Rec Day!
by Roman Tingle | July 14, 2025 7:17 AM
We arrived yesterday to South Holland, and have had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Harvey Boxing Club this week! Our first day just so happened to be our recreation day! The day brought us under the lights of Downtown Chicago where we received the full City experience! We rode the Metra together, visited shops, ate hot dogs, and truly got a feel for the community that God has blessed us with. As our first jam-packed adventure comes to a close, we are full and expectant for the doors God will open through our ministry the rest of this week!

Friends, Family, FOOD!

Day two begins! Today we met the lovely community at Restoration Ministries. This group helps children and adults through various ministries such as daycare, rehab, and even boxing! There are many ways to serve South Holland through this organization, but today we were placed to help the kids in the daycare. We split off into different grade groups, and focused our time and attention to help lead and guide these kids in relationships and in God’s love. Everyone on the team was touched by the tinder hearts in the daycare, and it was a blessing to shine a light on that sector!
We then later returned for dinner to meet with the other PPM team for a time of fellowship and of course, great food! As we socialized with the other team, we also had the opportunity to share and hear testimonies from the staff at Restoration. It’s truly amazing how God can impact your life through the experiences of others. What an amazing second day! We look forward to more opportunities in the future.

Stocked And Loaded!

It’s morning two at Restoration. Today’s task was to stock the shelves full of food and donations. As we lifted and carried boxes, we got to experience the heart of giving that Restoration Ministries has for the community. This place is built off a heart for serving people and has truly inspired us as a team. We can’t wait to see how this blesses the community.

Box, Drop, And Roll!

This afternoon we organized all of the clothes and miscellaneous items in the storage area. We helped make the room more accessible for people to grab clothes and easily deliver them to those who need them. It was a huge help for the ministry, and lots of fun for the team!

The Price is Right!

Today we are spending time at the Restoration Ministries thrift store! The team broke up into groups to help with the sorting and prepping of clothes that will soon be brought out for resale. Vivienne put sales tags on some clothes.

Prayer Walk!
by Roman Tingle | July 16, 2025 12:13 PM
This morning we got up bright and early to pray on the streets of Harvey, Illinois. We focused our attention to the needs of the community, and interceded for God to move in the city, and to lead His people back into His arms. Next we stopped and learned a bit about the history of Harvey. And finally, we stopped at a park and prayed for the kids at restoration, as well as over the park we were at. We continue to pray for this place and that heaven will draw closer and closer to it!

Tokyo Thrift
by Roman Tingle | July 16, 2025 5:17 PM
After a long days work at the store, we got the opportunity to go shopping! The Restoration Thrift Shop has two floors of clothing and furniture, as well as its own boutique! It was a beautiful store with amazing workers, and we could really see the ways it was impacting the community!

Another great report of your day’s activities! I’m sure you’ll all have stories to share about what the Lord did through you and in you as you served the ministry and people of Harvey. Mrs. Walker and I are so blessed to read about your service opportunities. May this brief taste of ministry challenge each of you continue giving into the lives of the needy in your spheres of influence at home and beyond. Blessings to ya’ll.
