Fellowship Bible Church

We arrived safely and set up for the week. Leah and Josiah, our Praying Pelican Staff led us in our orientation meeting to prepare us for the week. We helped read the policy agreements, which reminded us of the reason we are on this trip - to serve the community and glorify Jesus!

We are at Memorial Baptist enjoying the sunshine in sunny Houston! We have been playing frisbee, hanging out, and getting ready for the 10:30 service.  Happy Sunday!

We headed to Bucees after church for lunch, and we really liked the brisket, pork, and chicken! We are excited to continue the fun at the beach after shopping.

After lunch, we headed to the beach. Matt was in his new Buc-ee’s merch! 

We are busy serving on our first day of ministry! Fifteen of us are at First Baptist Church Splendora sorting, organizing, and doing demo on a wall in the church. We have found a lot of interesting stuff here!

We finished reorganizing and getting rid of stuff out of a room at the church. It looks so much better already! Other members of the team at First Baptist are cleaning out other rooms to make room for building a stage. 

We found some papers and markers in the room and decided to write encouraging verses and notes to Pastor Billy and the FBC Splendora family!

Ministry flew by today as we served in multiple ministry locations! We ended the day having dinner at In-N-out, enjoying shakes and burgers!

We are serving at Impact Houston today. There are boxes being packed full of nutritious food to pass out to those who need it. They have an active food pantry and other ministries to support families in the local community of Houston. 

We are getting ready for food distribution, and we are stationed at the bread. Pray that our efforts will multiply and feed a multitude! 

After food distribution, we cleaned up and organized pallets. 

We have arrived at Catholic Charities food pantry. Mark is the volunteer manager and he filled us in on the children programs they have, programs for single parents, refugees, unhoused people and more. They have been in operation for almost 80 years! They serve around  2,000 families across 3 pantries in the Houston area every week! We will be serving in the food pantry this morning. 

We are in the process of moving bags for today’s food pantry. They will be handed out to families and be a blessing!

Good morning! This is our last ministry day, we are back at Catholic Charities helping pack grocery bags for those in need. We are excited to be back for a second day at this ministry!

Yesterday in the afternoon, we went to Kemah Boardwalk and shopped, rode some roller coasters, line danced, and got some sweet treats. It was a lot of fun!
