Summit Christian College

After a very long journey, we made it safe and sound. We got a tour of our beautiful lodging site and got to enjoy a very special documentary on the devastation of Hurricane Helene. This gave us a great perspective on the meaningfulness of the week we are embarking on! 

Today we are working with an amazing organization called Mercy Chefs. They serve meals to victims, first responders and volunteers when disaster strikes. We are blessed to be serving them today as they go out and serve the communities affected by Helene. 

We worked really hard, and had an amazing time serving today!

We ended our day in a beautiful conversation, opening up to one another, doing a devo and praying together. 

Today we are at Habitat For Humanity in Newland and serving them by painting the exterior of their office!

Tonight we enjoyed unpacking the day in conversation, as well as a devotional and discussion on the importance of trusting God and letting go of our fears. We ended our night in prayer and worship.

We started our day with Mrs Nina and Mr Alan and got to sit in their beautiful home singing worship songs with them and praying. They shared some of their experience from the storm and how it affected the community. It was a blessing to meet them!

We headed back to Newland after our visit and finished the project we started yesterday. 

To close our day, we took part in worship time with members of all 5 university teams staying on site.
