Plumstead Christian School

The staff for this week is ready for Plumstead Christian school! We are super excited for the team to arrive tonight and for the week ahead! 

Yay! We have arrived!!! We are so excited for what God has in store for this week. God going to do such great things! As we arrive and eat some local sandwiches, we are pumped to do God's work!

We are meeting Pastor Samuel, and his testimony is amazing! As he tells us how God turned his life around from being an atheist, we are encouraged to search for God's voice this week! 

After a great lunch provided by the church, we are now helping the church get ready for Holy Week. It is a special time for the churches in Puerto Rico, and we are helping them get ready to receive more people than usual, so they can look welcoming to the visitors! We are doing a deep cleaning of the windows!

We are visiting a supermarket to buy supplies for a visit to a women's shelter later during the week. We each took part of the list and are now meeting back up to pay for it. We know the women in the shelter are going to be so happy when they receive all of these! God is at work! 

With just an hour left to work today, we are rallying as a team to finish cleaning up the 5 classrooms that the church uses every Sunday to teach the Bible. They have them divided by age groups, and each represents a period of Jesus' ministry on the earth. We are tackling the windows, as every classroom we are able to work on is one less task the few church members available to do them will need to finish. Go team go!

Tonight we are attending the church's Prayer Service and the church has been studying Exodus. Pastor Samuel has prepared a competition that included the youth from the church and from our team. We are having a blast as we compete in exercises to see who gets to pick the question and then answer it! 

Every morning we do an individual Bible study. It’s a great way for us begin our day with the word. This morning we gather together to study the word individually and build our relationship with god. It’s so important to spend time in the word and with god.  It’s amazing how God is working in our lives. Praise the Lord our God! 

In the afternoon we are doing evangelism in Old San Juan, taking advantage of all the tourists due to Spring Break. We are now in La Princesa Walkway, one of the tourists spots of Old San Juan. La Princesa is the name of a previous prison now turned into the Tourism Company Headquarters, and what better place to speak about the redeeming Grace of God!

We're enjoying a wonderful time playing games at an elderly center, especially having fun with Pictionary. It's heartwarming to see how God's love is being shared throughout the community.

We are now having a great time with the women's shelter the church supports. The girls are ministering to the women, painting their nails and coloring with them as they share their faith while the guy's support them lifting them up in prayer. We are closing up with everyone joining in worship, and the ladies from the shelter even took out tambourines and joined in!

Tonight, we gathered for worship, lifting our voices together in song. There’s something deeply moving about standing side by side, united in faith, and feeling the presence of God among us. I’m reminded that worship isn’t just about songs but about the way we live and serve. Tonight was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and faith, and I feel blessed to be part of this mission.

We are preparing for a future team by moving furniture to clear the space for floor tile removal. By making way for their work, we're contributing to progress. With faith in God, we can make a meaningful difference for the future.

After we finished the work needed in the Primera Iglesia Bautista de Rio Piedras, we are now exploring Rio Piedras. We are having a great time in the Food Market of Rio Piedras, exploring all the different fruits sold. They are huge!

Emma came from Illinois and served with us as our Assistant Trip Leader. She needs to leave earlier to the airport, so we are sending her while praying for her!
