Chapelstreet Students

Tonight we got an overview of expectations for this week and some team bonding time!

We have 5 great PPM staff that will serving alongside us this week! From left to right is Kari, Sophie, Sam, Genevieve and Aubri! 

Today we’re wishing Pastor Jay and Mr. Steve a very Happy Father’s Day! And Happy Father’s Day to all the dads back home!

Today we are on the Minneapolis and St Paul light rail handing out pizza, granola bars, and water bottles to people. We are offering prayer and someone to listen.

Griffin, Noah, Emmet, and Colton hand out pizza and say prayers for people waiting to get on the light rail at Union depot.

While riding back and forth we got the amazing opportunity to meet so many lovely faces! It’s such a blessing to listen to these people’s stories and to just be an open hear for them to talk to! Afterwards we got to pray over their hardships they are going through and for continual safety in their life :) 

We got to pray over Rydel, a father who no longer is in contact with his children. We reminded him that we have a Father in heaven who can redeem and restore. 

The team jumped on the light rail at the US Bank Stadium station and posed with the Vikings ship.

The group leader Jay, and a few students, talked with three college students and explained the gospel and answered questions they had. 

Noah, Charlie and Colton prayed over the landscaping crew at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. So incredible to see them step into uncomfortable spaces and lean into the power of the Holy Spirit.

Chapelstreet helped at Good in the Hood to sort shoes. They sorted shoes to grind, to get rid of, good, to sell wholesale, and great, to sell for 6 dollars to the local community. All the proceeds went to food for the local community.

We had the best time this afternoon sorting shoes at Good in the Hood! 

The group sorted 2740 shoes and when they all sell will provide over 33 tons of food for the community.

This late afternoon we went door to door to invite the neighborhood to ROCK Block Party put on by Redeeming Love church. We also got the opportunity to talk to each one who came to their doors and pray over their life!! 

It was so beautiful to see Steve use his spanish to get to know some local families near Godtown! 

We had the opportunity to serve food to the community at ROCK the Block with Godtown after canvassing.

POD one helped move wood from a house God Town was working on into a truck to be moved to another work site!

Before the pods begin work we spent some time at Godtown outreach center praying over the day and worshiping our one true King.

A few of us shoveled piles of compost to be spread throughout the garden! 

A few of us got to stay back at God Town and prepare lunches for the homeless encampment. After many burgers and hot dogs were made, we packaged them up and created lunch bags full of goodies!! 

Jen and John, our partners at Godtown have built a beautiful relationship with the people of the St. Paul homeless encampment. We had the privilege of joining them to pass out food, water and clothing. Not only did we bring them tangible goods but we listened to their stories and prayed over them, hoping to show the love of Christ in every encounter. 

We had the pleasure to see our brother in Christ again! We received amazing words from him and then got to pray over his life 🙏 

This evening Cole and Jay led us in worship! Cole killed it on the piano!

Today we started our day by helping Jon and Jen at Godtown by unloading the truck of wood we loaded yesterday. There truly is no I in team because ALL of us helped in this task.

Nothing better than starting the morning with prayer and worship! After meeting up at GodTown we took some time to be in Gods presence and pray for our day! 

We got some local Mong food and beverages in the market! It was so cool to engage in the traditions of their culture!  

Noah, Emmett, & Charlie got the opportunity to go up and pray over this amazing woman! Praying for a blessing over her life and successful sales for her business! 

This afternoon pods 3 & 1 did an amazing job working on site at Godtown! We hauled many piles of lumber & siding to be stored and used in the future! We also broke down old lumber and carried it down the block to the garden compost site. This afternoon was the epitome of “many hands make light work”!

Some of the students went to another one of God Towns ministries called the lily pad. The team weeded and picked up trash around the area.

Over at Eden Garden we got to building! We all teamed up and cleared out the soil to create a flat surface, and a part of our team built compost boxes! 

We ended our day with a powerful session of worship, devotionals and reflection. The Holy Spirit has been on the move this week!! Set A Fire worship song was our anthem this week: “No place I would rather be than here in your love, so set a fire down in my soul that I can’t contain, that I can’t control.” 

Today was our rec day and so we visited Douglas Point Beach on the St. Croix River! After an incredibly moving week a handful of students expressed interest in baptism. What started as 7 students grew to 18 students professing their faith in the Lord!! HALLELUJAH! Heaven is rejoicing! 

We had the chance to go and canvas for Godtown one last time to invite people to a Block Party!!

God Town hosted a BBQ block party and had a few dj’s playing music, hotdogs and bratwursts, and plenty of fun for an amazing party for the end of Chapelstreets trip!
