Dinner / Preparation

by Shari Somerville | June 28, 2025 9:57 PM

We made it back home to Hattieville Baptist Church,  where we were greeted with hugs and love. Felt good seeing the friends  we made last year. After catching up and  a delicious dinner, we started preparations for our visit to the retirement home - My Cielo Blue- tomorrow Lord willing.

Sunday Morning Worship

by Shari Somerville | June 29, 2025 1:16 PM

What a wonderful feeling to be in the house of the Lord on this beautiful day. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Got to sing some local Belizean songs this morning in praise and worship time. When the praises go up, the blessings come down.

“Dance Special”

by Shari Somerville | June 29, 2025 9:09 PM

What a beautiful job with the Interpretive Dance done by our youths this morning in the Sunday Worship. The spirit of the Lord was here. The Bible reminds us to remember the Creator in the days of our Youth.

Sunday Message

by Shari Somerville | June 29, 2025 10:26 PM

Pastor Robert Spry blessed us with the message today. He spoke on Psalms 23. God is active when it comes to mankind.

David reflected on his experiences - fighting a giant, losing his best friend Jonathan, becoming King, etc. He had high moments, low moments, turmoil, tears and victories. In all that, God was with him and navigated it all.  His rod and staff comforted David.

He reminded us that even when we find ourselves by still waters, in the presence of our enemies, every valley we have to tunnel through, we shouldn’t fear for God is with us. We find peace in the valley when we connect ourselves to God. God gives us grace to get through every situation, even when we don’t get an immediate answer from him. Let us do it with God and not ourselves.

Visiting the Elderly

by Shari Somerville | June 29, 2025 10:35 PM

After lunch today, we drove to My Cielo Blue, a retirement home in Gardenia and visited the wonderful staff and residents. We sang with them and did a special dance for them (done by the youths). Afterwards, we had a dance party with some of the residents and us. Oh such joy to laugh and party with them in the Lord! What a wonderful way to end an already awesome day.

VBS Day 1

by Marconi Cano | June 30, 2025 12:35 PM

This morning we had a powerful start to our VBS with the kids from beautiful Hattieville. We learnt  from Psalms 23:5 of how God anoints us and our cups overflow. We also learnt of how Jesus fed the 5,000 persons and healed their sick. That’s the same way he cares for us and provides for us.

The King Children‘s Home Visit

by Marconi Cano | June 30, 2025 5:25 PM

This afternoon, we had the blessing of visiting the King’s Children’s Home. It was truly a heartwarming experience. We spent time talking, laughing, praying and playing with the children, and through it all, we tried our best to share the love of Jesus with them.

One of the most beautiful moments came as a surprise: a few of the children played the piano for us. Their talent and confidence touched us deeply and reminded us that God places gifts and light in every heart, no matter the circumstances.

We left feeling encouraged, humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to bring a little joy—and to receive so much more in return. It was a wonderful afternoon that we won’t soon forget.

Food Prep!

by Marconi Cano | June 30, 2025 5:40 PM

After our visit to the children’s home, we spent the rest of the afternoon working together on food preparation. We packed and bagged groceries that will be used to bless 40 families in the community.

It was a time of teamwork, knowing that these simple bags of food represent hope and care for people who need it most. Our prayer is that through this act, not only will physical needs be met, but hearts will also be touched by God’s love. In the end, God alone will receive the glory, as He is the true source of every good gift.

Second Day of VBS

by Marconi Cano | July 1, 2025 12:35 PM

This morning we celebrated our second day of Vacation Bible School, and what a blessing it was! Nearly 100 kids joined us, all eager to learn more about Jesus. Their boundless energy kept us on our toes, and their smiles and laughter filled every corner of the buildings.

As they rotated through the different stations—storytime, crafts, games, and snacks—the joy on their faces reminded us why we do this. It was beautiful to see them singing, learning Bible verses, and sharing moments of friendship. Today truly felt like a glimpse of God’s love at work among us. We look forward to what tomorrow will bring!

Philippians 4:7

by Marconi Cano | July 1, 2025 12:49 PM

This morning’s Bible verse for VBS was from Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It was a beautiful reminder that God’s peace offers comfort far beyond what we can comprehend.  It reminded us that no matter what worries or challenges we face, God’s peace can steady our hearts and give us rest.

Sports During VBS!

by Marconi Cano | July 1, 2025 1:19 PM

During VBS, we took some time to play sports with the kids and it was such a highlight! Their excitement was contagious as we kicked balls around, organized quick games, and simply ran and laughed together.

It was wonderful to see how these moments of play built new friendships. Beyond the lessons and crafts, these simple games gave us another way to show God’s love in action.

Crafts and Joy

by Marconi Cano | July 2, 2025 12:07 PM

Today was our third and last day of VBS, and what a joyful day it was! The room was filled with laughter and smiles as we gathered around the craft tables. Together with the kids, we dipped our brushes into bright colors and painted beautiful pictures that spoke of faith, hope, and creativity.

It was heartwarming to watch little hands at work; some careful and focused, others bold and free, yet all equally precious.

Spin The Wheel!

by Marconi Cano | July 2, 2025 12:27 PM

What a fun and unforgettable day we had at Vacation Bible School! Today, we had so much fun spinning the wheel. Each section brought its own excitement—some kids got to dance, some sang joyfully, others bravely shared a testimony or answered a Bible question, and a few recited the memory verse with such confidence.

The room was alive with laughter, applause, and big smiles. Watching the kids step up, participate, and encourage each other was heartwarming. It wasn’t just about the fun challenges; it was about building courage, faith, and fellowship.

Food Ministry

by Marconi Cano | July 2, 2025 12:36 PM

This morning during Vacation Bible School, we had a special opportunity to reach to families who came. While the children were busy learning and playing, parents stopped by—and it became the perfect moment to share the food hampers our team had carefully prepared earlier.

It was truly a joy to see their faces light up as they received these hampers and we prayed for them . Each one was given with love, as a reminder that God cares not only for our spiritual needs but also for our physical ones. Moments like these remind us of the heart of our mission: to serve others completely.

Home Visits

by Marconi Cano | July 2, 2025 3:38 PM

This afternoon was deeply meaningful as our team set out into the community of Hattieville for home visits. In each home, we had the privilege to speak with families, listen to their stories, and pray with them—asking God for strength, healing, and hope in whatever situations they’re facing. Along with our prayers, we brought food hampers to bless them with something tangible, a small reminder that they are seen and cared for, both by us and by God.

It was humbling to witness how a simple visit and a prayer could bring light to someone’s day.

Health Clinic

by Marconi Cano | July 2, 2025 5:15 PM

While in Belize, we had the privilege of hosting a small health clinic for the community. Throughout the mornings, we checked people’s blood pressure and offered basic eye exams. It was humbling to see how something as simple as a blood pressure check or a pair of reading glasses could make such a big difference in someone’s life.

Many people walked away smiling, grateful for the chance to see more clearly or to better monitor their health. It reminded us that ministry is not only about sharing words but also about serving practical needs with love and compassion.
