ORU Missions

Dillon and Justin are ready to meet the ORU team. 

Today we went back to LRRC. We organized all the storage containers and sorted a lot of clothing. 

Monday and Tuesday we had the opportunity to serve alongside Maui Rescue Mission. MRM has a mobile shower and laundry unit they take around Maui to various places where there are a lot of unsheltered people. We have had the chance to make sure the showers are clean between each use and help people fold their clean laundry. It's is such a blessing to see the joy on people's faces and to experience their gratitude. It's wonderful to be able to partner with an organization that is meeting the tangible needs of our friends and showing the love of Christ in their actions. 

This morning we went to Feed My Sheep.  They collect and give out food to the community.  We helped clean and sort food to be distributed later this week. 

Yesterday afternoon some of our team built some bins out of wood pallets. These bins will be used to store clothing on Saturday for the giveaway event that LRRC is having. 

Today we are at a different site with Malama Kula. We are spreading mulch on the burned ground and clearing waddle trees, which are an invasive species on Hawaii. 

Today we got to help at the Lahaina Resource and Recovery Center in a final push to set up before the huge giveaway on Saturday! Aunty Nettie is so excited to be able to provide this for the community and we are so excited to be the hands and feet of Jesus to show His love in this way!

This morning we had the chance to serve alongside Feed My Sheep. They are a local Christian food pantry which serves hundreds of families across the island. Our team got to pack bags of can goods and fresh fruits and veggies for families and pray with them. It was an incredible ministry and we were so grateful for the chance to serve alongside them. 

Here we can see our efforts to weed the land and dig water wells, among the beautiful clouds. These efforts help to bring water to the native plants they are trying to grow, and replenish the natural aquifer - these heavy low clouds are a great sign!

This afternoon we are helping paint at Puka Naz. These buildings are for their compassionate village on their property.
