The Alaskan Culvers

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 7, 2025 6:19 PM

We stopped for lunch at Arctic Roadrunner, aka “The Alaskan Culvers” as Tanner calls it. The menu was truly Alaskan with salmon burgers, halibut burgers, or American burgers.

Hands to the Soil, Hearts to the Lord

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 9, 2025 3:16 PM

Today is our first day of ministry projects! We had the opportunity to serve at the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, helping with various projects. It’s a blessing to get our hands dirty to support this community in a tangible way.

Is Jesus Worth It?

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 10, 2025 3:40 PM

Yesterday was a very cloudy and rainy day. The weather was not ideal for the outdoor projects we were doing. It would have been so easy to feel miserable and complain, yet not a single complaint was said, and no work was stopped or even slowed down.

In the middle of the cold, wet, uncomfortable situation, we got to sit with the question:
“Is Jesus worth it? Is Jesus worth this discomfort?”

And the answer is simple: Yes.
Yes, He is worth the soaked clothes, the tired bodies, the cold hands, and the muddy shoes.

He is worthy of it all. Serving Him, even in the rain, is a joy.

Is Jesus Worth It?

Work That Lasts (part one)

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 10, 2025 3:55 PM

Today we are getting to partner with a team from Home Depot to build raised garden beds! In the first part of the process, Maddie and Katelyn stained all of the wood.

The beds were then assembled with the help of Carter, Caleb, CJ, and Tanner.

The next part of the process was placing the beds. They were carried over and placed on the gravel that we were able to lay yesterday.

The beds were then filled with plenty of soil (many, many palettes). The Home Depot team was very impressed with how efficiently our team worked together to complete such a big task for them. Everyone was all in.

Living Life on the Edge - Alissa

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 2:51 PM

We also continued landscaping projects around the greenhouses and garden. Karly, Katelyn, and Mike were edging the walkway into the greenhouse. The small details like these make a huge difference!

Crank it Like a Chainsaw - Miriam

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 3:01 PM

The wood stacking also continued! Our team was able to fully stock their wood sheds - from pulling the branches out of the brush, to cutting them down, to splitting each one, and then stacking. The day was finalized by praying over the wood and gardens, trusting the Lord to use it all for His glory.

Bittersweet “See You Later”

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 3:05 PM

Our last afternoon at the food bank was bittersweet, because we are so grateful to have made so many sweet connections. Each student has a testimony of how they saw the Lord in this place - whether that was through an experience or another person. We are so grateful for the Lord’s continued faithfulness in this place!!

Wow God

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 3:13 PM

Our recreation day was a total “Wow God” moment. We got to kayak on the ocean and admire the Lord’s beautiful creation. We also had the best tour guides - they handled every detail, while still taking time to get to know us and have fun with us!

Still Waters, Big Wonder

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 3:45 PM

As we kayaked through the blue waters surrounded by towering mountains, it was impossible not to feel the presence of God in His creation. A reminder that He is the maker of these views, yet He still considers us to be His favorite creation!

by Gabrielle Leupp | June 13, 2025 4:42 PM

We ended the day with our final night of VBS! Our team has grown to love these kids so deeply, many tears were shed while saying goodbye. We are so grateful for our partnership with Peninsula Grace, it has been something that only God could have done. This church family has become like family to us!
