Settled in the Jungle: A Warm Welcome

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 21, 2025 10:07 AM

After a long journey involving planes, buses, and boats, we finally settled into our lodge deep in the jungle. We were welcomed with a beautiful candlelit dinner, a peaceful moment that marked the beginning of this mission. Now, a restful night awaits us.

Visit to the Community of Panguana I

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 21, 2025 3:54 PM

On our second day of mission, we had the privilege of visiting the community of Panguana I, where we were warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by its residents. The local authorities shared heartfelt words of welcome, expressing their gratitude for our presence and the interest shown in their community. In a spirit of fellowship, both the mission team and the community members introduced themselves, strengthening bonds of respect and connection. It was a beautiful beginning to what promises to be a journey of shared learning, service, and meaningful exchange.

Welcoming Embrace

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 21, 2025 3:59 PM

A welcoming embrace from the entire community revealed the humility, warmth, and affection that define Panguana I. It was a simple yet deeply meaningful gesture that made us feel not only welcomed, but also like part of their family. That act of hospitality reminded us of the beauty of simplicity and the greatness found in the hearts of those who received us with such love.

Serving in the Jungle

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 21, 2025 4:02 PM

Serving in the jungle comes with its challenges, but they pale in comparison to the unwavering willingness and love we’ve witnessed from the people of this community. Their dedication and genuine care shine through every obstacle, reminding us that true service is born from the heart, no matter the conditions.

Meeting Pastor Jose and his Ministry Work!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 21, 2025 4:08 PM

We had the opportunity to meet Pastor Jose and his wife. He shared with us the many years of ministry he has dedicated to this community, along with the needs and challenges they continue to face. It is always inspiring to witness how God’s work is being carried out in such remote and hard-to-reach places.

St Paul's Youth Builds a Blessing!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 22, 2025 9:30 AM

One of the church’s most pressing needs over the past few months has been the construction of a bathroom facility. Pastor José had shared this need with PPM, and thanks to God — and to the generous heart and commitment of the youth from St. Paul’s — this vision is now becoming a reality. This incredible group of young people has taken on the responsibility of completing this much-needed project.

Soccer Fun and Friendly Rivalry!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 22, 2025 9:35 AM

This afternoon we shared a joyful time playing soccer with the children and youth of the community. Although we lost the match this time, we had a blast and are already looking forward to a rematch!

More Than a Match: Building Bonds Beyond the Score

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 22, 2025 9:39 AM

Well, we lost the soccer match—and tried to redeem ourselves with a game of volleyball, but unfortunately, we lost that too! Still, what truly mattered was the joy of connecting with the local community. The laughter, camaraderie, and shared moments on the field were worth far more than any victory. Our hearts are full.

Relief for Panguana: Sharing God’s Love Through Food

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 22, 2025 9:46 AM

The community of Panguana was severely affected by a flood caused by the overflowing of the Amazon River, leaving many families without their crops. For weeks, these families have been going through significant hardship. In response, we prepared 40 bags filled with essential food items to help them meet their basic needs. God is good!

Short Service, Full Hearts!

by Luis Carlos Armas Vascones | June 23, 2025 7:18 PM

Our Sunday began with a service graced by the presence of the local community. Each member of our team had the opportunity to share words of encouragement, and we also joined in the songs of praise. It was a brief morning, yet it overflowed with blessings

Delivering Food & Encouragement

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:16 PM

Another ministry that we are doing this week is visiting families in the community and delivering some basic food supplies. We know the groceries will not last forever, but we pray that the encouragement and reminder of God's provision remains in their hearts and ours forever.

Praying for the Sick

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:20 PM

"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." - James 5:15

Praying & Believing

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:24 PM

One of the most important things we can do on a mission trip is pray for one another. We cannot meet all the needs in Panguana, but we believe in a God that sees each need and cares. We pray for these families and that the Lord would touch more hearts to help.

Some Helpful Brothers in Christ!

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:26 PM

We are so thankful for the church members that are joining us in ministry this week - not only are they helping carry the groceries, but they can also continue the ministry after we return home.

Evening Debrief

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:27 PM

Each evening, we gather as a team to talk about the day and how we have seen God at work. Since we don't always have power, we get to reflect by candlelight!

Día de San Juan

by Katrina Hulme | June 25, 2025 3:37 PM

Today is a special day in the jungle, as many people celebrate San Juan day. We were able to observe some families participating in creating their "Juan" and learn more about the culture here in the Amazon.
