We made it!

We arrived late last night to the little town of Opole! This morning, we were able to join Ostoja Church for worship. Pastor Piotr preached out of Matthew 6, reminding us that God cares for us and to not worry.

Today, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit high schools in Opole and connect with the students. We shared about Colorado and our Lutheran school in Denver. We loved talking with the Polish students after each class and are excited for Youth Night!

House of Hope
by Jess Janicki | March 18, 2025 11:47 AM
Today, and few of us went to serve at House of Hope, an amazing ministry run by nuns. They serve the homeless and those less fortunate with a hot meal, hair cuts and clothes. These women serve so faithfully and they are beautiful representatives of who Jesus is. We really enjoyed our time serving there!

Final Ministry
by Jess Janicki | March 19, 2025 5:44 PM
We had an incredible last day of ministry! It's hard to believe it's already over, but we saw Jesus move in some unique ways. We went to our final school and taught 5 classes! Over the course of the week, we have interacted with over a hundred students. We also served one last meal at House of Hope and it was nice to be greeted by people we met yesterday. We had over 50 kids at Youth Night tonight! It was a night full of pizza, candy, glow sticks, dancing and above all, real and meaningful conversation. A few of the Polish students asked our students a little more about Jesus and it led to our students sharing more about them, and one even added the bible app to her phone! The Polish kids were impressed by how authentic our students were and how they could actually see Jesus shining out of them.
We also loved that we are able to support the on going youth ministry at Ostoja Church, run by Dawid, (who is also our local PPM Staff). Ostoja Church has a huge heart for kids and youth and we are so happy to have partnered with them to show the teens in their community that Jesus is real and personal. Please join us in continuing to pray for the youth of Opole, and Poland, and for Ostoja Church as they continue to reach their community for Jesus.

Thank you (Dziękuję!) Poland!

It's crazy to think we are already at the end of our trip. It's gone by so fast! Today we went to Auschwitz, and we are so glad (no matter how difficult it was to see and hear about) that we went and learned. It was an experience that changed all of us. We then got to go into Krakow and explore Old Town and see how beautiful it is lit up at night. Krakow is consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and also boasts one of the largest squares in Europe, and dates back to the 13th century.
As we reflected back on our week, one thing we all said was how much we loved getting to know the Polish students and have meaningful conversation and lifelong connections. A lot of the local students kept asking why we are really here, like they could see something different in us. We are so thankful for our time in the schools and the youth nights were so much fun! Thank you to everyone who supported our trip! We can see that God is doing something beautiful here and we are so thankful we got to be a part of it!
