Faith + Hope = Love is a ministry at Hope City that provides much needed clothing, toiletries, and household goods for the immediate neighborhood, whether they are single-parent families or the unhoused, these invaluable resources can help them in very practical ways.

This week our Praying Pelican Missions team will help to relocate this ministry and get it set up to expand its outreach for the surrounding area along the 22nd Street Corridor! 

After an AMAZING, first day in Tucson, we got to celebrate with gelato from a favorite, local hang out! 

The Garden of Gethsemane is a popular attraction that draws people from literally all over the world. The team had an opportunity to see several sculptures that were created from trash in 1945 by an unhoused Tucsonan named Felix Lucero.

The team was able to serve with our amazing partners at the Gospel Rescue Mission's (GRM) Center of Opportunity. They learned how God blesses GRM with resources, partners, volunteers, and community support so that GRM can share those same blessings with as many as 350 men, women, and children on a daily basis by providing them with much welcomed shelter, tools to aid in their recovery from addiction, as well as helpful education and resources to open doors for personal healing. GRM is ever expanding and continually adding more services to assist their guests in the healing and recovery process!

The team did a great job preparing several rooms that look just like this one at Hope City!

Stay tuned to see this space transform into the new location for many more organizations and partnerships that will assist in sharing the love of Christ with the surrounding community. 

Gap Ministries was the site our team got to partner with today.  If you ever get the chance to hear their origin story, this ministry does so much more than offering a food bank and wrap around services for foster kids! Their impact is far reaching and quite the legacy!

Who knew that boxing up dog food for Tucson's furry friends could bring so much love and enjoyment for both these volunteers and the recipients? 

Hosting a game night for our single parents and other friends that have been anticipating an opportunity just to spend some time together with the Pelicans from Mississippi was pretty super! Everyone had a blast hanging out with many of the same people they have been connecting with at the beginning of their week in Tucson.

The new space for an outreach ministry by the name of Faith + Hope = Love brought tears to our eyes, knowing we got to play a significant part in getting the various rooms set up to bless many families and individuals for many years to come!

Our team shared communion on New Year's Day along with an incredible meal together and Elvis was in the house!

Each person had the opportunity to share what impacted them most during this past week and how our time together would influence their lives back home.

Today the team served with an outreach ministry called Faith + Hope = Love at Santa Rita Park.  The team got to meet with several of the people that stay in the park and learn about their individual experiences.  Delivering care packages, including letters of encouragement, socks, and sandwiches all helped to provide the hope that is needed to get through another day. Many invited the team to pray with them, too!
