by Mikaylee Garcia | February 11, 2025 1:12 AM

We wrapped up our time getting to pray over Kyle and the work he is so passionately doing to serve his community. What a privilege it is to hear his heart and be invited into the amazing things Malama Kula is doing. Only day 1… be back to tomorrow!

Battery Distribution

by Dillon Crum | February 11, 2025 1:07 PM

We had the opportunity to serve alongside Josue at Hui Homes. Hui Homes has been active since immediately after the fires and has been serving those impacted by the fires by meeting both spiritual and material needs. Today our team was able to go with Josue and distribute large batteries that families can use to run their off-grid tiny homes which Hui Homes provided. It was such a a blessing to see the work Hui Homes has done and to spend time in prayer with the families.

Today part of our crew has the chance to go with Aunty Nettie and her crew to a hotel in Kaanapali and pickup gently used furniture to bring back to the resource center for families to come and get for their new homes. This power crew knocked it out quick and had a lot of fun doing it!

by Justin Jones | February 12, 2025 4:17 PM

This morning, some of our group are at the home of local residents, helping them with cleaning, organizing, and yard work.  These individuals do so much for the community, and we wanted to offer a small gesture of appreciation. We began our work by praying for them.

Maui Rescue Mission

by Mikaylee Garcia | February 12, 2025 4:37 PM

This morning, we had the privilege of assisting the Maui Rescue Mission. Two members of our group completed 30 loads of laundry for the Pu’uhonua homeless encampment and learned about the incredible ways the Mission is supporting the community. Pu’uhonua is a Hawaiian word that means “place of refuge”.

Bridge Builders (literally)

by Dillon Crum | February 12, 2025 5:48 PM

At Malama Kula today, we joined the inspiring effort to restore a ranch damaged by the fires.  The homeowner's dedication to clearing the land and preventing further erosion is remarkable. Our team supported this effort by placing rocks in a gulch, enabling heavy machinery to access the site.  It's hard work, but we're honored to play a small role in the ranch's and the community's recovery.

Prayer Time with Lahaina Baptist

by Dillon Crum | February 13, 2025 6:09 PM

Before heading out on our recreation day we stopped by Lahaina Baptist Church one more time. The whole team had the opportunity to hear from Pastor Erik and to listen to his heart for the community of Lahaina and serving them in the name of Christ. it was incredible to hear his story of God's provision and steadfastness. After he shared with us and drove us to various spots around Lahaina we spent some time praying for continued protection over Lahaina Baptist, Pastor Erik and his family, and for the church body as a whole. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for our relationship in the future and the way He will continue to use Lahaina Baptist to share the Good News!

That’s a wrap!

by Mikaylee Garcia | February 14, 2025 4:29 PM

Today is the team’s last day before heading home. We gathered this morning to pray, reflect, and debrief how God has met each one of us. We also got to hear a powerful testimony from Matt. The Lord has moved in more ways than we can have imagined.

That’s a wrap!
