We made it to Ensenada!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 15, 2025 6:02 PM

We thank God for a smooth trip and a great day! We spent some time in San Diego to have lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then we headed to Ensenada. We are excited about this week and we would appreciate it if you could pray for this mission trip as we serve God in Ensenada, Baja California! Stay tuned to learn more about how God is moving this week through our team and as we serve the community and local church.

Devotional time

Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.

Cleaning the park

by Miriam Serna | March 16, 2025 11:13 PM

Today, we went to a park near the local church to clean it up. We picked up trash to clear the area and swept the basketball court, which had become muddy due to the rain in the past few days. We also cleaned the soccer field. It was very rewarding to see everything clean, and we were able to enjoy playing there afterward.

Soccer game

by Miriam Serna | March 16, 2025 11:38 PM

While we were cleaning, some kids came over to help. After a while, we decided to take a break and play soccer with our little friends. Maybe we didn’t know what we were doing, but we looked awesome doing it.

Sunday service

by Miriam Serna | March 17, 2025 12:11 AM

Today, we had a wonderful Sunday service and had the opportunity to lead some worship songs, including one in Spanish! It was amazing to realize that we are praising the same God, making it a memorable experience to sing together in both English and Spanish.

After the service, we shared lunch with the church members.

Going to Walmart, but in Mexico!

by Miriam Serna | March 17, 2025 12:16 AM

We had so much fun trying to complete the shopping list, we even turned it into a race! Can you guess who won?

Home visits

by Miriam Serna | March 17, 2025 12:58 AM

Today, we visited two families and gave them a food basket. They aren't Christians yet, but Pastor Roberto and some church members have been visiting them over the past few weeks. We've witnessed the great need they have—not just for food, but for Jesus above all. They are heartbroken, but we know the one who can heal them—Jesus.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

"I can still dance!"

by Miriam Serna | March 17, 2025 9:20 PM

Today's lesson was about finding joy in any circumstance. This woman is an example of strength, faith, and joy. We all face difficult moments, and sometimes we wonder, "Why me?" However, once those challenges pass, we can become living proof of the power of God.

Praying for Pastor Roberto

by Miriam Serna | March 17, 2025 9:29 PM

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today lifting up our pastor. Lord, we ask that You surround him with Your peace and strength, renewing his spirit and heart for the work You have called him to. Fill him with Your vision, clarity, and wisdom as he leads with courage and faith. Empower him to stand firm in Your truth, to speak boldly Your Word, and to serve with joy and humility.

Encourage him, Lord, when the weight of the calling feels heavy. Let him feel Your presence and know that he is not alone in this journey. Revive his soul with Your love and remind him that the seeds he plants will bear fruit in Your perfect timing.

We pray for his protection, both physically and spiritually. Guard his heart, his mind, and his family, and grant him strength to continue running the race with endurance. Let Your Holy Spirit fill him, guide him, and refresh him, giving him the passion and drive to lead Your people toward the future You have prepared.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Kids Ministry at the park!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 17, 2025 9:30 PM

Our VBS was a blast today! We shared the story of David and Goliath, teaching the kids that God calls them and sees their hearts. We had a ton of fun playing, acting out the story, crafting, and dancing together!

"There's a snake in my boot"

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 17, 2025 9:36 PM

As if doing food distribution, praying over people, and hosting kids ministry wasn't enough, we also continued helping with the cleaning project at the park. Our team is doing a great job and they did so much today! PK was a little scared at some point because we found a lizard! And then someone said they saw a snake. But nothing could stop our team :)

Here comes the reward!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 17, 2025 9:39 PM

We appreciate so much what our team is doing while having the best attitude, so we went for a treat: Churros!!

Praying over families

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 18, 2025 11:40 PM

What a great start to the day! We went to one of the communities in Ensenada with the most need. There, we visited a family that Pastor Roberto and some church members have been visiting and inviting them to church. Even though there were lots of visible needs, Topacio's mom knew that the greatest need for her and her family is GOD. She shared her family's story and how she encountered God. She also opened up with us about some of her daily struggles when trying to live a life that honors God. We encouraged her, shared Bible verses and she even asked us to pray over her family's houses in the community! God is good and His mercies are new every morning.

God is calling you!

by Miriam Serna | March 18, 2025 11:45 PM

Today's lesson reminds us that God chose ordinary people to do amazing things. No matter who you are or where you come from, God has a purpose for you and has called us to be His disciples and share the good news.

God is calling you!

Fun fun fun!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 18, 2025 11:46 PM

We had some time after VBS & the cleaning project at the park. So, we went to downtown where we had lots of fun exploring and making some cool group photos!

Yummy food

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 18, 2025 11:50 PM

We are so blessed by Pastor Manuel & all of the church members at Monte Sinaí (our lodging) who have been feeding us so well! This is just one proof of the many delicious meals we have had here in Ensenada. Thank you, God!

We love Ensenada

by Miriam Serna | March 18, 2025 11:50 PM

We are really enjoying our time in Ensenada and can't believe tomorrow is our last day of ministry. Ensenada has truly captured a piece of our hearts.

Mission accomplished

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 18, 2025 11:53 PM

Look at Mukiza! He is enjoying the time here and we were so happy to capture it in this photo. As we wrapped up with our debrief today, we are thanking God for every opportunity He has given us during these days in Ensenada to serve Him and to love people.

Getting the groceries

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 19, 2025 11:05 PM

Today, we went to get the groceries for the food baskets, and it was so much faster than the last couple of days since our team already remembered what to get and where everything was. We had fun getting our groceries for the last time!

Helping our neighbors

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 19, 2025 11:09 PM

One of the food baskets went to Amelia, Lupita's neighbor. She is a 74-year-old woman who is very active and healthy! She inspired us as we heard her story and how she keeps going no matter the challenges. We prayed for her and her husband who is sick, and we also prayed for provision from God during this season when she lost her job. Let's keep Amelia and her family in our prayers!

Charles did it!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 19, 2025 11:11 PM

Before we started with our VBS, we had some fun at the park. Charles was on it! It was so fun seeing everyone try all the games and have a good time.

Praying

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 19, 2025 11:15 PM

We love praying, and when Pastor Roberto asked us to pray we said yes! We went to the property they are buying and where they will be building their church. The place they have right now is rented so they are praying to build their forever church here. We were honored to be a part of this and we pray God moves and helps them get everything they need to build their church here.

Cornerstone

by Miriam Serna | March 19, 2025 11:28 PM

The first stone has already been laid, and we trust that one day, when we return, the building will be completed. We will be able to praise God together once again in this new place.

It’s better to give than to receive.

by Miriam Serna | March 19, 2025 11:53 PM

Once again, we can see that we’re the ones who are truly blessed on this trip. Every day, we get to experience people’s hospitality in so many different ways.

Today, we prayed for Lupita and her family. She’s a member of the church, super brave and hardworking, and she’s on the home visitation team. She was the one guiding us on the visits. On top of that, Lupita gave us a pair of earrings that she made herself. Such a sweet gesture, and it’s a little memento we’ll always cherish.

It’s better to give than to receive.

A bubbly day

by Miriam Serna | March 20, 2025 12:09 AM

This is how we closed our final day of ministry – filled with many emotions popping up. It was a bit sad to say goodbye, but we were happy for everything we were able to do. We hope we've planted a seed in their hearts.

La Bufadora

by Miriam Serna | March 21, 2025 12:29 AM

We finally visited La Bufadora, a marine geyser (blowhole), and it was quite a spectacle. The roar as the water enters the cave, followed by the splash that forms a rainbow, was incredible. What a privilege to witness such a marvelous creation of God.

Hello, beach!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 21, 2025 12:31 AM

One of the cool things we got to do today was to go to the beach. Mukiza couldn't resist the desire to get in and so he did (even though the water was cold!). We had a good time there walking around, admiring God's creation, and resting.

The lookout

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 21, 2025 12:34 AM

Today we also got a chance to go to the lookout where we were able to see the ocean and all of Ensenada! We were so happy to be here and enjoy the view. Look at our happiness here!

A final prayer

by Miriam Serna | March 21, 2025 12:39 AM

We had one last night of prayer during the women's service, where we were able to pray for families, children, young people, leaders, the economy of Ensenada, and for Israel.

We believe that prayer is powerful!

¡Hasta pronto, amigos!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 21, 2025 12:40 AM

We are so blessed by the church members of Agape. They were so kind to us and we loved getting to know them. We will miss them for sure and we will keep them in our prayers. Thank God for Lupita, her son Felipe, Claudia, and their baby boy, Emmy.
¡Hasta pronto, amigos!

Beautiful boat harbor wasn't there in 1963 (my very first trip to Ensenada with my parents). On the north end of the harbor was King's Trailer Park.
