Belmont University

Today the team arrived safe and sound, and once settled in headed straight to Seattle’s famous Pike Place Public Market. After finding what seemed like the only available parking spots in the whole of the city, we spent the next couple of hours exploring the maze of shops and restaurants.

We all admitted the famous gum wall to be quite gross, but couldn’t resist joining the masses as we added our own skittles-flavored hubba bubba to the collection.

While the wall was definitely gross, we couldn't help but to stop and strike a pose! 

Today was refreshing!! As a team we all went to church and had an awesome time of worship over at Coastline Church!! We are filled up and ready for the week!!! 

After filling up on burgers and shakes at the highly-anticipated Dick’s Drive-In, the team sat down to plan their meals for New Horizons and then hit WinCo for quite the haul!

Caroline and Roderick spent the day welcoming  people to the community food pantry! They welcomed, escorted and even prayed for the people while they waited for their names to be called!!

Today the team divided and conquered! Our team pulled up at New Horizons to provide a full breakfast and lunch, and got to chat with some of the residents in our free time!

Ella and Lauren started us off strong on painting the ceiling for Ballard Church. Their necks and arms may not have appreciated it, but we sure did!

While finding ourselves once again meandering around Pike Place, the students wandered off and returned with tulips in hand for all of the leaders! Such a kind gesture!

…I’m not crying, you’re crying…

It was great to sit with Pastor Brice and learn about the history of Coastline Church! It was inspiring and motivated us even more to complete the projects we had. 

Today we headed out to hike Oyster Dome trail for our rec day! Although the weather was less than ideal, the views and the company more than made up for it :)

This evening was incredible! Everyone was stretched outside their comfort zones as we participated in street ministry with an amazing partner, Reach!!

Lives were touched, souls were saved, and we fed and clothed some people in between!!!

We started today off with a good deep clean in preparation for a community movie night, the church is now spick and span and ready to go!

We were more than happy to hear that our next task was a little landscaping around the church, and proceeded to enjoy the first real bit of sunshine we’ve had since being here!

Our last task of the day was a little trash pick-up at nearby park. Invite all your friends and head on over, because this park may very well be the cleanest in the city!

Today we went to New Horizons where we made breakfast and lunch for unhoused young adults. Ms. Kylie whipped up some brownies and they were a hit!!
