Kilometer 43

by Francisco Martinez | February 16, 2025 6:48 PM

Our Michigan team has finally arrived!  We picked them up at the Santo Domingo airport and made the short trip to their hotel, a welcome respite after their long journey.  After settling in, we enjoyed a delicious dinner together and held our orientation meeting, laying out the plans for the week and getting to know each other better.  Excitement is in the air as we anticipate our first day of ministry tomorrow in the village of Kilometer 43.  We're all tired but eager to get an early start and begin working alongside the community.  Please pray for our team and for the people we will be serving.

This morning Crossover Church brought an unforgettable day to life at the school in kilometer 43! The air was filled with laughter and music as they sang joyful songs with the children, clapping their hands and dancing with energy. The kids’ eyes lit up as they listened to inspiring stories from the Word of God, sparking curiosity and big, hopeful smiles. It was a day of love, faith, and connection, leaving everyone with hearts full of joy and memories to cherish forever.

Construction Team!

by Juliette Matos Plata | February 17, 2025 8:11 PM

Today's mission was full of energy, teamwork and love as missionaries came together to support the building of a house that will change lives forever. With enthusiasm, they formed a human chain, passing bricks to the workers. They mixed cement with determination, their hands and hearts working in perfect harmony. Every drop of sweat and every smile reflected his deep devotion to making God's work a reality. It was a powerful reminder of what faith in action looks like: building not just a house but a future full of hope and love.

VBS Día Uno

by Juliette Matos Plata | February 17, 2025 8:29 PM

This afternoon at VBS we were able to start with a lot of enthusiasm and joy. We sing, we play different games and the most important thing is that we listen to the word of God. We share the story of Jonah and try to obey what God wants us to do before him.

School Visit at Batey 43

by Francisco Martinez | February 18, 2025 3:59 PM

Day two brought us to the school in Batey 43 (Kilómetro 43), where our team experienced the vibrant atmosphere of a Dominican classroom firsthand.  We shared the story for this afternoon's VBS with the children and teachers, and took a moment to pray with them. Though our visit was brief, it was a truly valuable and heartwarming experience.

Building Dreams at the Pastor's House
Day two also saw our team hard at work at the construction site for the new pastor's house.  Everyone pitched in, contributing their energy and enthusiasm to the project.  From mixing cement to carrying blocks, the team worked alongside local builders, making tangible progress and experiencing the satisfaction of contributing to this important community project.  It was a day of hard work, but also a day of building relationships and sharing in the vision for the future.

VBS Fun with Jonah!

by Francisco Martinez | February 18, 2025 8:20 PM

Our afternoon was filled with the joy and energy of Vacation Bible School! The kids learned about Jonah's incredible journey at sea, including his encounter with the giant whale.  Outside the church, laughter echoed as everyone danced and played together, enjoying balloons and other games. It was a wonderful time of learning, fun, and fellowship for all the children.

A Sweet Farewell to VBS. Our Final Day of Vacation Bible School was Bittersweet

by Francisco Martinez | February 19, 2025 8:42 PM

The children were so engaged and enthusiastic that they were already asking if they could come back tomorrow!  Their eagerness clearly showed how much they enjoyed learning and playing together.  It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm, and it makes us hope that we'll be able to return next year for another amazing VBS.  We'll cherish the memories of this week and the connections we made with these wonderful kids.

Evening construction work

by Juliette Matos Plata | February 21, 2025 9:04 AM

Every brick we placed was not just construction material but a symbol of faith and unity. As we filled the spaces with soil to level the ground, we felt a deep sense of purpose, knowing that our efforts would soon provide a home for someone devoted to serving others. Though the work was hard, the joy of giving and the strength of our shared mission made every moment meaningful.
